Very sad losing that C-130 and it’s brave crew.
Sadly 3 Americans who had come over to help fight the fires lost there lives yesterday.
Thoughts and prayers for there families.
Very cool.... seems like those trees are very well adapted to fire!
Does the burnoff act like does on the American Prairies and western forests... clean out the old vegetation that supports lower number of animals.... to create young growth that supports larger populations? Not cheering for fires... but seems like Australia evolved... with fire.
Cheers and thanks for posting. Australia is instantly out of the news... new shiny objects. Firebugs to prosecute. So nice to see that all is not doom and gloom in the aftermath!

One word. Redundancy.Ask them if it was so critical, why do they not have a backup? Rentals cost a lot for the setup and first months rent.

She really needs some dewormer.
She is in for a rude surprise when she gets off the bus. Ten bucks says she raises her hand when they ask "does anyone have a driver's license?"
You'll see Fosters advertised, probably the Fosters Bitters in the green can more than the blue can lager yanks are familiar with, so your mate not having heard of it makes me think he's a west coaster, Perth perhaps?Have posted previously that I hired a kid from AU years ago that just wanted to see southeastern US in return for enough to cover travel expenses. Had a party for him on arrival and thought we were being cool by having Foster's - he'd never heard of it. Great guy and paid him well.
I am hoping Barney or mates would do the same for me. I have a girlfriend in Melbourne that I haven't seen for a coons age. She's a Tassie girl and a good one.Have posted previously that I hired a kid from AU years ago that just wanted to see southeastern US in return for enough to cover travel expenses. To show my bonafides to @barneybdb, I am a rabid Penrith Panthers fan.... the Rabbitohs are up there too.
As an aside, I find it curious that the Penrith Panthers and Carolina Panthers share the same colors....
Yes, I have great memories of the Panthers casino. I stayed at the Holiday Inn there, but didn't get any smarter. We flew in and out of Richmond to resupply Alice Springs.Used to stay at the Panther's club when we were flying the brass around, Air Force HQ was just up the hill at Glenbrook. Our family are Canberra Raiders supporters.
Always a place to stay with us here in Adelaide if anyone is in the area....
