I have found a used IOR Valdada 6-24 X 56 scope for sale at my lgs and would like to have user information on this particular model. They are for sale on Amazon, but not much info out there. The owner wants me to make the first offer, but I don't know enough to even think about it. I am particularly interested in their warranty service. Please help me with this info.

Mic drop!

Info please. Why don't you like it?

Long story short, way too much money for a roll the dice optic. I haven’t found one yet that’s impressed me.

If you are getting a stupid price on it, up to you if you want to see if you get a good one. Just know the used market on them is absolute shit. Make sure you get it cheap enough you won’t lose money.

What kind of price are you looking at?

Thanks for the replies. Isn't the internet great? The only problem that I have is lack of specific info to back the opinions. One of the reasons that I considered this optic is that several Rex Reviews rave over the brand if not this model. I will have to go back and see the Sniper 101 comments again. I have 4 SWFA scopes on rifles because of the good reviews on Sniper 101 where I first saw it. I have been very satisfied with them in their class. I have one Vortex pst gen II 5-25 and I am wanting to move up from there. For those who asked, it is mil/mil and it is still available waiting for me to call him back. I have decided to pass because of the comments on this and other forums. Thanks guys.

I have a 3-18x42 IOR.
I bought it years ago when FFP MIL/MIL scopes were slim pickings.
I have been very happy with it, it is still my favorite scope. Because of the design, it is difficult to get the proper eye relief.
Disclaimer: I don't own any high end glass, I have a SIghtron SVSSED 4.5-24, Bushnell LRTSi 4-18 and several other, lower end optics.
My IOR has always tracked, it has always returned to zero. I had it out just this past weekend, along with my Sightron (which retails around $2,000). The IOR glass was better.
The Gen 4 scopes have generally proven to be reliable.
My biggest issue with buying one is that Val (valdada optics) can be a bit flaky when it comes to warranty.

@TacticalDillhole ...you win!

Ok, fair question @PATCO the real issue is why buy an item for a much higher price when support may be lacking when needed? You can get something for less of equal or better historical reliability for less without having to worry if you break it. Plain and simple. SWFA is good about supporting the product. What is the 6-24 at your lgs selling for? There is probably something in that price range that is comparable.

During a AZPRC match in my case but no doubt other guys IOR 6-24's were kicking the bucket during matches right about then too.

The not so funny thing was that my friend got on the IOR train years before me and both his broke, I thought surely IOR had their sh!t together by the time I bought mine, nope.

Back then it was S&B or USO if a guy wanted a decent FFP scope, IOR was almost half the price. I shoulda just bought an S&B on credit because that's what happened eventually anyway.

True that.
When I bought mine, the options were Premier, S&B, USO, IOR and Falcon.
I actually bought a Falcon first to test the FFP waters, then moved up to the IOR.
We live in good times now, there are many options available.
I do still like my IOR though.

Go vortex razor 2 or vortex amg. If you want nice (that will make you look cool anywhere and get respect here) look at a Zero Compromise Optic.

God - just looking at this picture brings out primal, lustful, instincts.

Makes me want to reach out, and grab ahold of her mickey mouse hat, stuff it in her mouth to shut her the fuck up when she starts whining, because I stole her fucking ice cream.

Then I’d take that Mint Chocolate Chip goodness and go down it somewhere private.

A man with a plan ! (y) (y)(y)

got to love all the ior hate here it's both sad and funny . funny cause mine cost less 800 dollars less than at the time the nighforce and 3600 less than the 5x45 snb . and in two and a half years I have owned one I have had 0 problems with it . Another reason I say people have to make up there own minds and buy what they are comfortable with . I would not trade my crusader for any scope I have looked through so far . It works very well . I have had in two years 0 problems with it . though for 1500 the 5x50 deltas are my go to scopes god they are nice . Its a scope, Its clear , its a ineradicable view with great eye relief . If you want an ior get it write a review let people know what you think . good luck and happy shooting .

A lot depends on what the price is.
If it's in the Sub $1k range, sure, roll the dice and give it a try, worst case you loose a little bit selling it off.

If it's at all close to the $2k range then wait and grab a good deal on a used S&B 5-25x56 in the PX here.

The reason they are in the Rex videos is that we slew them over and over so IOR needed to find an outlet to talk about them.

They were dying left and right, so excuse the few, "mine work great" as a broken clock is right twice a day. You never see them and when you do, it's someone who barely puts 3000 rounds downrange a year. They are the same as playing dice, roll the dice, take your chance.

The other reason this site slays them, they infringed on my trademark without permission trying to brand the 3-18x as a SH Edition scope. They were looking for a reticle, a dealer (Scott @ Liberty) came on here as a dealer for them and enlisted the forum to design their reticle. The members crowd designed their current reticle and so they felt my Trademarked Name and Logo were free to use in order to sell scopes. We never authorized it.

They have "great glass" because they use an old WWII / Cold War Era Communist Zeiss factory in Romania that was trapped behind the Iron Curtain when Germany was split up. However, they cannot make internal components to save their ass. Scopes are Telescopic SIGHTING devices, not spotters. So while glass quality is important, mechanics in the scope are more important as we have to dial our turrets in order to hit shit. If those mechanics don't work right, you cannot hit a target no matter how crispy the image looks through the scope.

We deal in volume, and not one-off anecdotal stories from people who rarely venture past 100 yards. We try to not waste people's money but if you are hell-bent on throwing it away, go for it.

Info please. Why don't you like it?
I find that's a problem. They won't tell you why it sucks they just read about it somewhere on the internet .The same guy who tell you Knight forces the Holy Grail of scopes and they won't even talk about Nightforce selling non American-made scopes. Or that Schmidt and Bender customer service is horrible. I too would like to know some stuff about Valdada. I'm not saying I'm going to buy one I just want to hear some constructive criticism

Starting another thread was a good idea.

I’m not sure where you heard Nightforce is the holy grail of scopes or that S&B customer service is horrible. I’ve had multiples of both and can confirm that neither are true. Nightforce is good, but definitely not the holy grail, and I’ve dealt with S&B customer service. Their CS was stellar. Issue fixed quickly and efficiently.
As far as Valdada, I doubt you will receive feedback from too many here, as most are smart enough to buy something else. With so many good scopes available, why would you take the risk on something like a Valdada????

I tested the 6-24x56 IOR a while back. It was decent optically except for heavy tunneling on the low end. Mechanical feel was decent, but one of the internal seals fell out toward the end of the tests if memory serves me right (it could have been on the 3.5-18x50 IOR, but I do not recall off hand since it has been while). It was an iteresting scope for the time, but a good number of people who tried it were having mechanical issues.

That was right around the time I stopped testing IORs due to consistency issues.
