TacOps turns out rifles that will do it pretty regularly.Thoughts:
Consistent .25” groups with factory Ammunition seems far fetched and unreasonable.
.452”,.600”,.792” average out to .614”.
That’s not .5” moa.
Get your money back and start over.

Thanks for the laugh if the day.
I don't care who the builder is consistent 1/4 moa with factory ammo is laughable. Especially a tactical rifle generally shot off a bipod and/or by inexperienced shooters. Most factory ammo won't even shoot in the single SD's and that's not even the whole story to the ammo equation.
To the OP,
Get your money back if your not satisfied.
I will warn you though, best consistent 5 shot groups I've printed with match factory ammo is around 1/2 moa.
With the combo you chose I'd be happy with 1/2-3/4 moa with 175gr fgmm.
Sorry, thought I was posting this on a different thread. So I have to know. How much will a Tac Ops rifle set me back, roughly?
Cafeful, you are about to be bombarded with random pics of pieces of cardboard with single groups on them.

I was just about to grab my bergara b14, case, and a box of 6.5 ELDM... oh and cardboard.

It’s ass herpes. You gonna die.If the OP is smart enough to jump on the offer by TacOps..........please, please for the sake of all that is good and right in the world let us know what you find.
Any other skilled people on here?
I've had these bumps on my ass, if I pay shipping both ways will you tell me what they are?
I bet you guys can make rifles that PDs nationwide and at least a few federal agencies queue up and wait for.
Right?
@BillyNg Do you ever shoot on Long Island? Maybe you can meet up with me and I'll help you out shooting that stick of yours when you get it back. I'll even bring my Lima 51 and let you try that for comparison. I have a few 737R's you could sample as well, GAP built with either 3/8 or 1/2 MOA guarantee.
This is what is great about the pr community.Quick update. I just had an incredible 30 minute phone call with a legend who, as it turns out, is kind and generous on top of being unquestionably the best in his field. Thank you MikeR.
Earlier today, after figuring out who my builder was, Mike went and gave him a call. Seems they both know and respect each other and both are working together to get my stick shooting the way it should. I have a shit-eating grin on my face right now that I don't think will be leaving any time soon. Anyone who doesn't understand why, needs to do just a wee bit of research into what Tac Ops produces.
Seems the two of them are working through the possibilities and have a plan of attack. I won't see the rifle for a little while, but that's okay. I'm sure it'll be worth it.
Brookhaven?
308, I was being serious, not poking fun at Mike or TacOps.that man knows how to make a rifle shoot in one hole, as witnessed by all the cardboard test fires he sends with his rifles. All, or almost all, are well under .100” groups.
Sorry, went back and re-read and I admit I took it out of context. Maybe because your post just happened to follow the two insults.
I apologize for lumping you with the others.

i have not read all the replies but has anyone verified that the bolt and action have been lapped and trued?
Wow, I have a Rem 700 5R SS in the HS stock it ships with and had it bedded When I got the stock back from Joe Ducks for a comb job.To the op, don’t give up. SAC has built a couple guns for me and they are top notch. I did however have a factory 308 police that didn’t shoot under 1moa with any handloads so I sent it off to a very well known smith and had the action trued and a new bartlein barrel spun on. Put it back in the hs stock and it shot the same. Couldn’t believe I had spent close to $2000 on getting the action trued, bolt fluted and timed, premium barrel installed and all cerakoted for what seemed like no gain in performance. It sat in the safe again for a while and I bought a Cadex chassis for a 6.5 SAC build that I had and my buddy said to put the 308 in it. Though it was a waste of time but did it anyway and I’m glad I did. It shot .2moa with factory 167’s. Not sure what the issue was with the hs precision stock and eventually sold it, but the smith said they would not bed it or mess with it.
Probably not your issue but it’s probably something small that is causing an issue once it’s all bolted together. I’m sure they will get it sorted. Best of luck!
Dave
Understood, but does not mean all is well, additionally the rifle has been re-barreled, re-scoped, and had comp and crown already altered, seems logically it may be worthwhile to verify the action work as well.Yeah, full build from a well known and respected rifle builder.
Bingo. I need to get to that part of my list before @MikeRTacOps retires! Definitely bucket list. This thread reminds me that one day I need to own a TacOps rifle.
I just need to quit being a poor HA!

There is a plan
Funny you mention that. There is a plan in place between MikeR and my builder. It involves a new action (apparently Impact has already agreed to take-back the one on my rifle), a Krieger barrel, and since the PRS-1 has been bedded unfortunately, it appears that it will have to include a new stock or chassis. I'll see if I can recoup some of the PRS-1 cost by selling it, but doubt I'll get much for it in its currently bedded condition.
Either way, there's a plan. Which is great, and gives me hope. It also felt good to hear how well Mike spoke about my builder. Mike has a lot of respect for him and his products, which says a LOT considering who Mike is. I will sleep soundly tonight.
I did. Was going to bed the action like you did but didn’t have much confidence in the stock. Felt it should shoot better since it was very similar to a manners with the aluminum mini chassis.Wow, I have a Rem 700 5R SS in the HS stock it ships with and had it bedded When I got the stock back from Joe Ducks for a comb job.
It was clear that the action was only touching two very small spots at the action screws.
Bedding seemed to really help. Didn’t make it a tack driver, but this is mostly a hunting gun, but def tightened it up.
So, did you leave it in that chassis?
No worries it's all good thank you for the telephone call after I reached out that was a classy thing to doIf you find it necessary to ban me, obviously your call. I can see where my initial statements came off as condescending, but was aimed towards the "i have a .00003 Moa rifle with factory ammo" crowd that by all accounts should be breaking records set by purpose built benchrest rigs. This happens with the RPR crowd too.
I stand behind that I meant no disrespect as Mike's rifles have maintained a stellar reputation for a long time.
Don't need pictures of your groups because I don't care. Just as I'm sure you don't care what my rifles do.
As for being a turd...meh, I've been called worse by better.
I see you are about as hot-headed as I am. But us short, angry Italians gotta stick together.
Mike, I apologize for any frustration caused. I sincerely meant no disrespect.

You can mill out the bedding compound, no problem. There is a plan

Your most welcome and thank you for being a complete gentlemanNo problem, and thanks for taking the time to talk it out with me. Glad we are on the same page and nice to make a new friend.
