A friend was talking about and suggesting I replace my old toaster with one made my SMEG.

They emailed me this link and said I should rush as it is one sale for $150....

For some reason, I don't mind spending money on ammo and other consumables...

Because there is a fool born every minute.....But, I got to say, it's got a defrost function, my Eggos might just taste better enough to make the price of admission worth it.....?

Plenty of five star rated toasters on Amazon under fifty bucks. Up to you what you want. I'm sure when Obama comes over to free load a breakfast he will expect it.

No kidding. Hurry, and if you call right now..... :D Haaaaaaaaaaaaa

Seriously though, we too are in the market for another toaster. Nothing is wrong with the Black n Decker model that we have, but we've learned that with the amount of both Rye bread AND Sourdough bread, we need a toaster for the 'wider' slices.

Not the "Texas Toast" type thing that is eleventy times thicker. Just the wider loaves, so that the whole slice fits in the thing, as opposed to having to toast one half, then flip ends and do it again. We here suggest that you don't make the same stupid mistake that we did.

If, that is, you like Rye, Freedom, Italian, or Sourdough style loaves. (you figure it out)

The quality of toast is in the bread and the butter or whatever you spread on it, not the heating element used to brown it. A better investment is in a good bread machine and ingredients and good European style butter or home made jams and jellies. Yes, I do bake my own in a , and it's damn good too but it took me a while to figure out how I like it best, kind of like load development for the .260 Rem. I cook it in my $100 Cuisinart toaster oven that I use to bake 95% of my meals that aren't made on the grill or stove top, the thing pays for itself every year in not having to run the big oven since there's only two of us.

I'm nowhere close to "artsy-fartsy" enough to justify a $300 toaster that designers think I need for some reason. Anyhow, it would clash too much with my pellet rifle sitting on the kitchen counter corner that I keep there for those damn starlings who raid my feeder outside the kitchen window.

Redmanss, I agree with you. I won't deny that we've gone and gotten ourselves a grain mill, so My Lady grinds her own wheat to make her own flour. The bread she makes from it, is SOoooo much better than that which we used to buy, years ago.

Feeding sourdough starter and keeping it alive for a number of years has been fun, too. The trick though, is just the right 'sourdough rye'....

Our outlet for the grain closed up though, so we're going to have to look for a different supplier for the burlap sacks of wheat. I know it's hard red, but I can't remember if we're looking for spring or winter wheat. If ya'll EVER get a chance for some Whole Grain bread, (as in the whole wheat-berry, freshly ground) try it. You'll be surprised.

You want the Breville 'Bit More' 4 slice toaster. I originally had the Wolf toaster to match everything else in the kitchen and didn't like it, the Breville is 100 times better and looks nicer as well.

I'm usually not a fan of toast and got a nice toaster because my wife always has toast in the AM and leaves the damn thing out, so I figured, get one that stays on the counter. After we got it, I've been eating toast because it makes the absolute best evenly toasted on the outside, soft on the inside toast I've ever had.

It's this one. You're welcome. https://www.amazon.com/Breville-BTA...=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B001415B12

I've noticed over the years how many new members start with years old posts. I've wondered why. How do they even find them? I've also noticed those new members are usually not here very long.

It's crazy what will show up in a Google search. There's probably links to all kinds of Tom fuckery that's been discussed in the Pit.

Google frame replacement on Toyota (?) truck and I bet there's a link to the thread for Tucker's truck getting a frame replacement.
I don't remember the brand. I just used toyota as an example.
