MDT ACC Elite

I have two ACC Elites with two different CDGs and while I haven’t verified zero shift, I have verified they interact slightly differently in each chassis as identified by wear marks of sorts.

I notice pretty significant zero shifts when installing my CDG Barreled action into my acc elite chassis. I have a black one that shift my zero high by about 3/4", and a FDE one rhah move it the same amount up, and about a 1/2" left, the rifles precision seems to degrade a bit as well at distance, groups have more vertical. I can use the same zero in my atx and xlr envy pro chassis, it doesn't move swapping between them. I wonder if the contour of the CDG action is causing this. I know I can put my archimedes in all of my xlr, atx, and acc chassis and the zero holds pretty dang true. Anyone else experience this when moving a zerod rifle from one chassis to another? Even my fuzion has had minimal to no shift between a foundation, xlr, atx and the elite. It seems isolated to the CDG.
Are you using the same reloads, or do you use factory ammo? Also, when you look in the V block of the chassis, is there more wear on one side over the other?

Hand loads(zero press, auto trickler, es of 15-20 and SD of 4-6 on 10 shot samples. V block is hard to tell since there has been 3 different actions in this chassis. The CDG action has a flat channel in the center machined along the length of the body, and the V block on the elite is a bit wider than the xlr and atx chassis, I wonder if that flat is making contact with the bottom of the chassis VS a round surface interfacing with the blocks. Hard to say, but it's definitely a consistent trend. I pulled the CDG out the elite and reinstalled it into the atx, and there was the 3/4" zero change like always today. My fuzion and archimedes fit well into the acc elites, so they will just live in the pair I have.

Interesting, thank you for the feedback. We will have to keep an eye on these actions and see if anything else comes up.

I like short suppressed rifles. What the minimum barrel length that the muzzle threading will clear the Elite hand guard? I’m thinking 20 in. Anyone has photos of a 20 in barrel in the Elite?

This is a 23 inch and a 22 inch. You could probably be fine with 20 inches.

Thanks for the pics man, that look pretty much perfect. I might just copy you and do the 22 in suppressed. Just have to use a shorter can.
Alternatively, we will have the new ACC Premier Gen2 available soon and the forend is around 2" shorter, meaning you could easily run a suppressed 18" barrel!

Thanks for the reminder Josh. Just picked up the Elite and will probably grab the Gen 2 Premier as well when available. Do you have any photos of the black bridges on a fde elite chassis? I can't seem to find any pics online.

Sorry, I can't say that I have seen any with that colour combo either, but I am sure it would look awesome!

I'm not so patiently waiting for the Gen 2 Premier to try my Vudoo in. It currently sits in a fully loaded XRS, but I tire of adding spacers to the buttstock or taking the entire forend off to pull the action out. Do you have to remove all the NV bridges on the gen 2 premier to pull an action out of the chassis?

Yes, you will need to remove the control bridges on the Premier Gen2 to remove your action.

It depends on your barrel profile, but it's likely that you will need to remove your NV Bridges to remove your barreled action.

Also, unless you upgrade your buttstock, you will still need to use the LOP spacers to set your buttstock length :(

oh I forgot that the Gen 2 Premier got the stripped down buttstock... bummer.

yeah its probably worth the weight/cost to get the fully adjustable buttstock, but I do like what you guys did with the forend and made it a tad shorter for us rimfire guys.
I’d think if anyone could use a longer forend, it’s rimfire where barrels aren’t heavy enough to balance over the center of your bag. Placing weights further forward has a greater effect on shifting the balance point forward.

You're right, but the typical barrel length for most rimfires is in the 16-22" range, and only recently (other than older BR and TR guns) are we seeing shooters adopt 24-28" rimfire barrels. Therefore, we're stuck in a strange spot where we need a shorter forend to accommodate lighter/shorter barrels AND be balanced enough in the rear end to not have the C.O.G too far rearwards.

I totally get it, and don’t envy having to make that call.

Looks like MDT won't have a rear bag rider available for the Elite until sometime in summer so anyone know if there is another source for a bag rider?

Just released. Bag rider for the ACC Elite.

CNC machined 6061-T6 Aluminum and Cerakote finish matched to the factory black.

Flat bottom with full radius edge for ideal tripod rear support engagement. Top surface has grip ridge texture to it (smooth). Does not stick out at all presenting any snagging surfaces. Tapers to match the grip support width. All other edges have a radius and are smooth.

Attaches with 2 MLOK fasteners (provided) into the MLOK slot on the bottom of the MDT rear stock. 4.9oz weight.

Tested by a top 10 PRS shooter. Everyone is happy. Get yours now.

Is this parallel to the barrel/forend or is it angled?

It creates a flat plane across the bottom of the rear stock. No relation to barrel axis, however it is very close to that axis.

Provides a 6.4" long flat area with a radius edge to engage rear tripod. The bag engagement part is a bonus. These chassis without a bag rider only leave a few inches of area in the rear where you are basically up in your armpit engaging tripod rear support.

In fact all, of our testing was around tripod rear support. Everyone has a place to engage they feel comfortable and stable and the full 6.4" length gives that room. Also this does not present a snag point like some of the other attempts I have seen at shorter versions.

The bag engagement is great too, but not much surprising there.

Is MDT going to release a bag rider for the elite or just leaving it to after market support?
It defies explanation as to why this is not being offered yet. They have the CAD/CNC files for the Premier bag rider. Very minor change to make one that is horizontal on the Elite and I do not understand why they have not yet offered this product. And they have been told time and time again. Blows my mind but yes, it provides opportunity to small and agile businesses who are more responsive.

Any update on a folding stock for the ACC Elite ?
No positive updates for you yet. Our current folding stock (SRS-XF) needs to be updated and redesigned to better work with our newer generation chassis, and as part of that, I would like to spend some time to finding a good folder solution.

There are a few ACC style chassis floating around in the wild with integrated folders. I've no idea if these will eventually be available for purchase or if they're intended to be more of a Mil/LE specific product.

These are prototype chassis for a customer of ours and not an MDT retail product as of yet. This may be something that we retail in the future, however, we would need to make some changes and adapt it such that it is not identical to the one we have made for that customer.

Thank you for information. They are quite nice.

If you’re able to bring a retail version of that chassis to market I’d jump at the chance to buy a few.
