Currently have a TBAC GEN 2 338SR can that I swap across multiple platforms and barrels.
Considering fucking around with the new RR options coming online.
With that consideration comes a question:
1.) Given I have 338SR muzzle brakes on damn near all my AXMC barrels and other rifle setups, if I want to experience an RR option, should I (and/or) am I relegated to going with a 338RR-SR option?
or
2.) Can I grab a dedicated 30cal MAGNUS-RR-SR that would work on my existing setups (excluding the .338 barrels of course) and anything new I want to put on it?
I’d assume even easier, being that the front brake can be removed for rinsing.are these new RR cans easy to clean like my old ultra 9 CB?
That has not been my experience. I think the brake system they have works well compared to the other non-braked cans I have or have shot.ime the omega does a piss poor job or cutting down recoil.
I don't have any to compare it to, I only own the omega and the ultra 9.That has not been my experience. I think the brake system they have works well compared to the other non-braked cans I have or have shot.
Ya probably not a total apples to apples comparison, especially for sound. 6" can vs 9" canI don't have any to compare it to, I only own the omega and the ultra 9.
don't get me wrong I like the omega, first can and a pretty good one. but the recoil is definitely better(it's not drastic but noticeable) on an ultra 9 and I have no idea why. not to mention the sound isn't even close. omega is a slightly loud can for a 6 creedmoor
The RR design is not to be compared to the Omega (braked) as that is entirely not a fair comparison. The braked Omega is kinda shitty, to be honest. How does the RR design differ from something like the silencer co omega that has a brake similar on the end? I have the omega and it does a great job cutting recoil but I have to imagine it’s not as significant as the RR numbers posted.
Sure, but I guess what is the science between why the omega is shitty and the RR is tits? I am not saying the omega is great, just curious what differentiates it from the RR design wise. Does the RR allow more gas to pass through and let the brake go to work? Is the inside baffle design different than a normal suppressor? Is the brake on the RR more better designed to divert gas?The RR design is not to be compared to the Omega (braked) as that is entirely not a fair comparison. The proper comparison would be the Area419 Maverick (which is spectacular) and straight brakes (Area419, MPA DN5, APA, etc).
I would let @TBACRAY or @Zak Smith answer that but it's mainly due to the design of the brake. It's similar to shooting an Open Gun in USPSA, more gas = more efficient recoil.Sure, but I guess what is the science between why the omega is shitty and the RR is tits? I desperately want a 3/4x24 non timed 30 cal brake, anybody know where I can find one?
no joke idk how I missed them being back in stock, thx
Probably still on the assembly lineWith form 4s taking a couple days where is all the end user eye candy in this thread?
We've shipped quite a few. We did have a delay with the RR brake portions when our plater screwed up about half the ones we sent and they had to be remade/replated.Probably still on the assembly line
I'm not knocking you guys one bit dude. You keep doing the Lord's work. I bet ALL the good ones are in high demand. We've shipped quite a few. We did have a delay with the RR brake portions when our plater screwed up about half the ones we sent and they had to be remade/replated.
Direct from TBACWhere are you guys ordering from?
When did you order? Just trying to gauge the timeline shown for mineIf I get lucky again and get a quick approval, Ill have a few photos of my Magnus S RR up shortly.
I can also compare it to the Omega 300 for those of you that were curious.
Apologies. I found a CB S RR in stock and snapped it up. I submitted my E-form 4 on 7/31/2024.When did you order? Just trying to gauge the timeline shown for mine
I got both ends... Ultra 338 RR and K RRI know I want a K-RR. The question is do I replace my full size with RR or is there true utility in having a small braked can and a large shush can rather than two braked cans. I do own a magnum, but primarily shoot short action cuz I’m a poor.
I said I’m poor!I got both ends... Ultra 338 RR and K RR
NO FOMO for me!
Had my Magnus-S HUB since late April, but still waiting on my Trust to be approved. Had I done individual, I'd have had it back in probably less than a week. But I prefer to use Single Shot Trusts, so 92 days and counting…With form 4s taking a couple days where is all the end user eye candy in this thread?
How do you like the S compared to the full size? I currently have the full size Magnus and the Cat JL, trying to decide if my next can will be a Magnus S/S-RR, the new Cat Dirty Dave, or go for a SiCO Scythe. I was wanting something lighter/shorter to throw on a hunting gun if I wanted since my JL has the military core (it's the same weight as the full size Magnus). Also, is TBAC the best place to order a S-RR if that was the route I went?Had my Magnus-S HUB since late April, but still waiting on my Trust to be approved. Here's some pics in various rifles, and the last one is it next to my full-size Magnus HUB can...

Any chance they had a second one in stock?Apologies. I found a CB S RR in stock and snapped it up. I submitted my E-form 4 on 7/31/2024.
Out of those listed, definitely get the Magnus-S. It's a great can. It's obviously not as quiet as my full-size Magnus, but it's impressive for its size, and sound quality & tone is excellent, just like the full-size Magnus. Get the Magnus-S, you'll be happy. How do you like the

My largest rifle is currently a 7prc, I'm not sure I would benefit from the RR on the Magnus-S anyway. Mostly shoot 6CM/GT-6.5PRC.Out of those listed, definitely get the Magnus-S. It's a great can. None of mine are RR, and they reduce recoil very well, even on magnum cartridges. I don't think you'd need an RR model, honestly. I'd just opt for the standard Magnus-S, but the RR part is up to you. To me, that's just more moving parts and something to go wrong or cause POI shift if a screws gets loose, or something like that.My largest rifle is currently a 7prc, I'm not sure I would benefit from the RR on the Magnus-S anyway. I agree, I have been battling on the decision. Now it's on to find a Hub Magnus-S lol.None of mine are RR, and they reduce recoil very well, even on magnum cartridges. That's easy... Message @Zak Smith and give him your info, and he'll get Blake to email you to get all your info needed, and your dealer to send it to.I agree, I have been battling on the decision. Now it's on to find a Hub Magnus-S lol.
