ZeroHedge - On a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero

I do not agree with some of their suppositions.
First, next year Moscow will increase military spending by 22.6% compared to this year and by 54% compared to the original project for 2025, drawn up at the end of 2023.
Even if they were guaranteed the war would end this week, this is an expected and responsible move by the Russian government. Due to the West injecting so much support in weapons and equipment into the conflict, Russian supplies have been hit hard trying to keep up. It should be expected that they will not only want to replace whatever they have been using but also step up defensive systems around their stockpiles while also evolving a lot of their mainstream systems to reflect the core changes in warfare just in the last 3 years. (drone use and defense, electronic warfare, hardened communications and more robust ISR capabilities).
One would totally expect their budget to increase even if they had zero intent to fight another war. CIA, the West and NATO have already shown that they cannot be trusted.
The Kremlin will enter the path of negotiations only when it achieves the main military-political goal of the campaign: Ukraine's non-participation in NATO.
Rightfully so. The West precipitated the conflict in the first place. Ukraine was never supposed to be part of NATO. We promised NATO would back off. Instead, we got pissed off because the elected Ukrainian leadership chose to be neutral, we replaced the their entire government leadership and prodded Russia into standing their ground. Russia already signaled that they would gladly meet to discuss a cease fire and de-escalation at the start of the conflict but the West had their (then) mouthpiece Boris Johnson pronounce that Ukraine did not want to discuss any peace negotiations.
Ukraine staying out of NATO and remaining a neutral DMZ style buffer is all the Russians wanted in the first place but we couldn't stand the thought. Result = Russia is the bad guy.
What a bullshit elitist attitude. The kind of attitude that erases a half a million Christians and poisons future generations of the same.
Secondly, the end of the conflict is not beneficial to the United States.
This is only true if kept in the context of the MIC and the corrupt politicians latches onto that teat. Ending the conflict would absolutely be beneficial to the US as a country and also to the rest of the free world.
The EU economy is destroyed and totally dependent on the United States, Russian gas and oil are being withdrawn from the European market, Russia is spending enormous resources on victory in the Ukrainian steppes.
No one should even act surprised. This was our intent. WAY too much money to be made with lucrative contracts lasting decades and covering trillions of dollars. Dollars and resources funded by YOU. No worries though, you will be too busy to notice because inflation is bleeding you dry, your streets and schools are unsafe, your borders are non-existent and your government has dropped our collective pants in preparation for taking it right up the ass with terrorist attacks that will make 9/11 blush.
The White House will do everything to force the Kremlin to abandon the alliance with Beijing, the main competitor of the United States.
This is the stupidest shit I have read in a while. They very, very obviously will not and did not.
This should be 100% common sense, yet we did exactly everything needed to not just encourage but to push Russia into alliances with China and Iran. A 3rd grader could have foreseen that and had enough wit to predict the outcome.
Our actions in the last 4 years (actually longer than that) have 100% strengthened Russia, made them more of an enemy to the West, weakened the US Dollar in world markets, strengthened Russian currency in the world markets and all the while formed an anti-US coalition that will be difficult to counter.
We created the problems that this article lists as foreboding and the author's premise is either seriously flawed or purposefully slanted to garner clicks.
