Hunting & Fishing Post your SMK/Match bullet kills

First experience with 185 Juggernaut from a .308 DT. Entered just behind front shoulder and blew out the back one punching through.

Late anterless season, factory Prime with the Norma 130, 305 yards slight quartering to me. Hit her high just behind the front shoulder, exited just in front of the opposite hip, watched her drop thru the scopeView attachment 7229736View attachment 7229740. A little bigger than a golfball exit. 2736 fps out of the 20" CTR barrel.

I have my 23.5" Bartlein medium palma getting cut down to 18". Was wondering what bullet to run, but I think the 130 Norma is woking just fine. The Bartlein will probably be a little faster than the factory barrel even with it being 2" shorter.
Great setup

Anyone ever use the 107 SMK out of a 243 or 6 Creedmoor for deer? I have a 18” 6 Creed that I use for coyotes with the 87gr VMax. May use it for our antlerless season and realized I have some 107s on hand. I am sure the 87s in the lungs, neck, or head would work, but I like exits on deer.

Yes. 105/107/108s have all worked flawlessly.

Got this girl yesterday evening. Distance was about 130-ish yards. She was head on and I aimed straight for the forehead. She dropped dead right after making a few loud squeals and kicking for a just a bit.

FN SPR
.308 Win
22" Shilen select match
PTG chamber reamer
Norma factory ammo with 175 golden target

After some disappointing falls with OTMs (animals were recovered, but lived a lot longer than I wanted) I've switched to the ELD-M for critter control (coyotes and feral dogs).

So far with only about 10 kills, the ELD-M has been impressive...but I'm reserving my opinion until I get another couple dozen on the ground. All are out of a 6.5x47, 130gr ELD-M at ~2,715 FPS.

^ furthest (actually the only one to run) that made it about 20 yards. Double lung from ~155yds.

^ Hard quartering to, full body penetration (can see exit on back leg) from about 140yds, went 0.

^ Exit from a frontal neck shot at ~130yds. Went 0.

20230819_074052.jpg

^ Exit from a quitting to shot at ~250ish. Neck/spine junction was point of aim/impact on other side. Went 0.

^ Exit from quartering away shot at ~82 yards. Went 0 and blew hair like a dandelion.

*** I will not be showing the dog photos out of respect. However, the dogs have ranged from about 60 - 80 pounds and every one has been extremely humane. Not a peep, no running.

This is the 147 eldm from my little buck a few posts back.
The bullet went in the left side through the 4th rib and traveled length wise through the body and was found in the right hind quarter.

This guy from Outdoor Life took a video of killing a moose with 22ARC shooting 88gr ELD-Ms (including photos of the damage). Some very upset people in the comments who don't understand how bullets work or kill things.
