I have both. Good and bad with both. On the 2011 mags you have to work some of them to make them work. Glock mags are everywhere and work. Staccato there is not much customization, were the Platypus is all about customization. The Staccato is smoother out of the box, but the platypus breaks in just fine. I recommend both of them.

Yessir here ya go. I have no complaints with it. I marred some of the finish changing the trigger out, but not too concerned. It's a nice magwell though.

It’s nice finish could be better trigger isn’t anything to write home about. But you can’t buy a Glock and do all this to it for $900. I’m excited to shoot it though. Hopefully no issues or at least after the break in it’s running like a top. Worth noting that if you have a G43x/G48 radian is coming out with a ramjet/afterburner combo for it. Just don’t know when.

I don’t own a Glock, so obviously I don’t have any of their mags, but that is one nice selling point of the Platypus. Staccato mags I’m guessing are north of $50 or $60 each, Glock mags you can find anywhere for next to nothing.

Staccato mags are around $70 and Glock 17 mags are around $24. The one thing that sucks is when you spend $70 on a mag and it doesn't work. Then you end up buying different springs and followers to make it work and now it's $100 mag. Sometimes you might have to bend them or remove a little material to get them to work, it's a 2011 thing. That's the reason I wanted to get the Platypus. I am going to send mine to MK3 to get ports done on it and a change of color.

Gees I knew Staccato parts were expensive, I never dreamed they would be $70+ per mag. Ok, so maybe the Platypus is looking up lol.

Needed a new bear gun. Picked up an FN 510 Tactical from a gun shop that was liquidating for just north of $700.

Put a Parker Mountain Machine compensator on it. The comp looks factory and greatly reduces recoil (they claim 60%)

Loaded up with some hard cast bear loads. That ridiculous magazine is in the backpack. It's a big beast, but shoots like a gentle 40 now. Hope to never use it for it's intended purpose.

We can finally buy a 365 X Macro comp in CA. Sig made a CA version with a loaded chamber indicator so we can have them too. Just picked up one and threw on a Holosun EPS carry. Pretty happy with it

I almost bought a 510T years ago but eventually picked the FNX45T. I already had two other .45ACP’s, so I wouldn’t have to sink in a whole bunch of cash on new ammo, plus I had been wanting a Mk23 since forever, and IMHO, the FNX45T is the upgrade to the Mk23 (I know H&K lovers are going to hate on that statement, but if the shoe fits….).

But now that I have my FNX45T kitted out and suppressed, I’ve been eye balling every 510T I pass at a gun show. 10mm is such a good round, and it is a little less heavy, so easier to conceal if need be.

And, thankfully, 10mm is holding enough of a market share that the ammunition is not terrifying. I need to start reloading it here soon

The FNX45T is a heck of a pistol. I would definitely take it over an HK. I've owned several hks and they are great pistols. But, a little behind the curve on a few things.

This was kinda a weird one I picked up. Full disclosure, I'm big fan of Colt here. But this one... it has the 25LPI front strap checkering, a steel/flat mainspring housing, an enhanced grip safety with extended beavertail and memory bump, old school slide markings, a commander hammer, traditional slide lock/safety, and underscored trigger guard. This pistol is sweet! Interestingly enough, the port is not lowered nor flared... Colt's going to do Colt I suppose?

Took about 5 years but this baby is amazing, CZ is doing Colt well from my evaluation, absolutely the best slide to frame fit I've ever seen from Colt, DLC coating, 2 piece Maxwell, fitted barrel, 5 years of waiting... it was worth the wait, just glad to have this pony in my stable.

Took the SS CR920XP out today. Shot it well, 120rds no hiccups. Trigger is meh. Have a johnny glocks connector on the way. Its been a minute since I've shot handguns and it shows. For the $50 i put into the Dagger trigger it was excellent and much better than the stock shadow systems.

I have a few different Staccatos and recently a Platypus.

They both shoot nicely. Both are accurate. (I have the 4.25 bull barrel Platypus). Both fit in my Hammer Armament holsters for the P

I really like the Platy's grip--I got the newer, more aggressive texture. Its very good, and feels just a bit slimmer. All of my Staccato grips have have been restippled and reduced (the Ps were redone, the others have grips by Extreme Shooters).

The Staccatos' DLC finish is very good. Mine get used but not abused and so I'm not sure my word on the finish's robustness counts. But I think the consensus is the DLC is good.

The Platy's is cerakote. I think even well applied (which is looks to be) is not as "good" as DLC. Others can weigh in. But OH the diversity of options.

Being able to use different RDS plates for the Staccato is nice, but so is picking a specific RDS and having mount low and choose iron sights, as is the case with the Platypus.

The customization, and the relatively mild impact on price, that Stealth Arms offers is pretty great.

There is some concern that the aluminum frame on the Plat may not hold up well with heavy use, + ammo or the like. I can't comment on that. It may/ may not be a concern for you.

None of this answers the "if it were my money, which one would I buy." I think if I was starting over, and had no magazines from one of the other, and I wasn't planning on getting into the 2011 game, Id probably get the Platypus. Its very cool. The staff at my LGS thought so to--it was the first they'd seen.

OTOH, I have a bunch of 2011s, and knew I wanted to add a Platypus.

That’s really good info, thank you. Because the Platypus is still more of a “build and order your own”, when it comes time I will probably still start with the Staccato.

Only reason being is I know of three retail stores near me that have the exact gun I want in stock. Not that I would pay retail, but if stores have it, gun shows will have it (and usually cheaper). Plus I *REALLY* hate the “order a gun, transfer it to an FFL, etc.” crap. You should be able to order what you want, fill out your 4473, and have it delivered to you. There should be no need for a third party. But that’s just my two cents.

Honestly iv tried most of them, Leupold is one i yet have to test out but i really love that green dot i have on my sig, the best one i shoot with is by far trijicon SRO

Yeah I’ve been thinking about the SRO for my TTI (because that’s what it’s supposed to come with), but hard time justifying that kind of money on a gun that is already one of the most accurate pistols in my collection and has incredible fiber optic sights out of the box.

Before you ask, “Why not the SRO for your P320 then?” The answer is, and this is entirely my personal opinion and could very well be my imagination, the SRO on a P320 just looks weird. I guess the lines of a P320 just look better with a squarer optic. And if your next question is, “Dude, WTF? Really?” The answer to that one is I’m OCD about the stupidest shit and it will drive me nuts lol. I already hate the looks of the 512 with G45 I’m running on my 10.5” .300BLK build, but I’m not going to change it because it works soooo damn well.

I agree aesthetics matter.

If you think it’s beautiful you will want to bring yourself to it’s level.

They could tell me Hi Point is the most reliable, awesome pistol in the workd and have the stats to prove it but I won’t be buying one.

No Viking commissioned an Ulfberht and said just wrap the tang in some shit and call it good.

The obverse side of this coin is that if you choose form over function it’s on you to train to overcome the weakness you have accepted.

Wish I could say I was that guy but I choose guns that are beautiful to me and I continue to be mediocre.

My P10C might be hitting the market for one of these. I've not handled the walther pro trigger but that was one of my reasons for sticking with my P10c so long is that the trigger is extremely good for a stryker gun. However sadly the aftermarket for the gun just never caught on. Comps are hideous, radian wont make a ramjet for it (I asked) even though that would be perfect for that gun. I got shield arms 5+ extenders only to find out I can't put a magwell on it that fits those lol. Like it's honestly sad, the P10C is the freaking glock 19 alternative that IMO surpasses it in every way out of the box, but it just never caught on.

I have. I honestly can’t stand the esthetics of any of them. Which why i want radian to make a ramjet so desperately. It would be a perfect fit for it.

Turns out they’re making on for the pdp pro. So might be heading that route instead of the huge PMM comp on the pdp pro X. So thinking i might pick up a 4” pdp pro and throw a ramjet on it

I did a thing. Well... I ordered a thing months ago, forgot about the thing, and was told the thing had landed and I needed to bring money. I love the thing aka a Reserve Series P226 XFive. No, I haven't pulled the plastic off the slide yet. Love the DLC'd all steel construction, the SA flat face trigger is THE nicest Sig trigger I have manipulated, and factory gas pedal is spot on!

And because I'm a 'tard I ordered the matching Half Face Blades Disaster Jr.

I'll be the first to say I'm a big fan of Glocks and by & large they've treated me incredibly well. That said, I've got to send my 1st Glock, at least the barrel back to the mothership next week. I know folks often joke about cleaning their guns (whether it be rifles, pistols, or shotguns) but arguments aside, one opinion I'll offer is by regularly cleaning your guns you might catch an issue before it becomes... well otherwise problematic.

In this case I noticed the smallest of chips in my G19.3 barrel and also caught a hairline fracture that broke off from that chip. Given that's where all the "pew-pew" magic occurs I became concerned about the metallurgy and reached out to Glock. Long story short, the barrel (at least) is going back to GA for evaluation. Not sure how well the picture will come through here, but the chip is in the red circle around the 1 O'Clock position and the hairline fracture goes almost immediately to the left of that.

First time I've run into something like this from Glock (although I did notice a hairline fracture in the hammer of a Beretta M9 a few years back which led me to replacing it for safety concerns). Guess my luck is just... atypical of my screen name here but as mentioned previously- this is one argument/example on why to regularly clean your boomsticks.

Is that directed towards me? If so I'd agree with you that that's a weird place as well. The chip I was showing is even above where the extractor would impact....We'll have to see what the Glock Mothership has to say... as for how many rounds... conservatively... IDK, 7-8K rounds as my best guess. All factory loads, standard pressure, etc. let's say I'm 1K rounds off of my estimate and I'm embellishing, after 15 years that'd still be 6-7K rounds (something like 500 rounds per year f I did my quick math correctly).
