Im a NYS LEO ( ,in a Max facility) and this place is just down the hill from where i work.

As with any occupation, the vast majority of us, are very professional at our jobs, and would NEVER act this way!

It discusses me to think this will smudge the uniform of all my Brothers, and Sisters in the LEO community.

The cuffs protect the co from the con, they should also protect the con from the Co.

Right let’s look at it like this - the dead con was doing a stretch for sexual assault.
So if we are goi g to have real Justice - then at sentencing I’d be fine with the victim’s family beating the guy - before sentencing if they catch him in the act - even if they get a bit carried away and rapist dies - o well - but years later in an unrelated event Some state employees beat a him to death because it’s Tuesday.

Those cases are very very rare - but if interested I have about 3000 hours worth of like video .

Handcuffed and mentally handicapped men are a common theme BUT it’s 5 to one women- young and old that seem to get the most locker room points of street cred .
Loveland PD in CO has a few former employees in prison now for past years beating of the 75 year old lady with dementia- broken wrist shoulder and ribs - but the kicker was the ENTIRE force watching the body cam footage and laughing and fist bumping.

It’s a fucking sickness that needs to be stopped .

I never saw a profession where more than half of the people employed in that field of endeavor were worth a flip. Usually less.
Ethical? Hard working? Took pride in their work? Knew what the hell they were doing? Half.
Sales reps, farmers, doctors, preachers, lawyers, equipment operators, teachers, soldiers, cops, firemen, and, yes, I’m sure, prison guards.
I always find it odd that people expect any higher standard of behavior for some professions than others. It ain’t there.

Cons are dangerous and they might try to kill you. If you are going to take a job in corrections you better have that figured out in your head before you go to work at the jail.

Most jails I have dealt with the CO's were just another gang in the jail. They "ran" the jail. If they didn't the inmates ran the jail. That never works out.

Jails are always one second from total chaos and death. Fear is the only thing that keeps things in check. If that fear is of a longer sentence, having the shit beat out of you by other inmates or CO's, it keeps things in check.

I've a friend who is a NYS CO sergeant. They have spit masks. Like fine mesh laundry bag, with a zip tie. Let him spit all he wants. I'm 68 and pretty sure that if I alone had a con in cuffs and I held his arm I could stop anyone short of a top mma fighter from landing an effective kick without punching or kicking.

What you may not realize is that he may have done something really heinous to find himself in this position. If there are no consequences when these shit bags do evil things behind bars, then they will just keep doing them. Getting them convicted of a crime while they are already incarcerated is basically useless, and almost impossible to do. You want to hire humans to keep the animals in cages, then you want them to be nice to the animals when they start biting the handlers. This is justice, whether you have the stomach for it or not.

There is an investigation page on the state of New York website. It shows all of the body cam videos individually. I watched a few of them. When the call came down, they sent every response officer that they could. This is a situation of an assault on staff, or something similar. They were pissed when they got there. You don't have to like it, but when those shit bags assault staff, they should get fucked up. It's the best and really only deterrent to prevent staff assaults. This page has 30 threads a day about horrible criminals doing heinous shit, and you all sit around and talk about how killing them wouldn't even be enough. Then, they go to a prison and do the same type of shit, and you want to dogpile the guards who are doing what you claim you would do, given the opportunity. Hypocrisy at its finest. Your hate for cops overwhelms all other logic. Fuck that inmate and his corpse. He raped someone's daughter to get there in the first place, and a 12 year sentence means that it was especially horrible, or that he had multiple priors. The mistake those boys made was by leaving the cameras rolling. You should be thanking them for taking out the trash.

I worked at a prison. I worked as a yard response officer and in max. If you haven't, then you have no idea what you're talking about. That place is full of literal scum, and they don't stop acting like scum when they get there. He's not in jail for speeding, he's a rapist with multiple convictions and a long criminal history. You should watch some videos of this stuff. If you saw the George Floyd video, there were 5 of them, and he was cuffed. They couldn't even get him into the back seat of a cop car. They tried for over 5 minutes, using every method they knew, and he was just pushing back against them. Had he have wanted to be violent, they would have all been bleeding. That doesn't even account for the spitting, biting, knees, kicks, or just quickly twisting your interfaced arm into their cuffed arms. At 68 you'd be unconscious and at their mercy before you knew where you were. It literally happens every day.
