Shot Show 2025 Rumours

Wait wait, Hornady has the all neeew .408 ARC do all cartridge! It's the greatest, flatest pegging, gayest, lowest recoil retard special ever made! Pre-order with only 89% down and no eta on arrival.
We’ll probably live long enough to see a Hornady saami 510 whisper for all the hunters who demands a 600 yard subsonic elk killer.

Federal is introducing a “fancy” and “flamboyant” new cartridge just for the LGHDTV community…

I guess we'll find out soon enough but I'm personally not expecting much.

The market has been flat for years and it seems that all companies are willing to invest in is cooperations with optics for pistols. I'll give Hornady this much- they've done more to reinvent cartridges than any other company over the past few years.

When it comes to pistols though- for years it's been 9mm and only 9mm. I understand where that's coming from but it gets to be boring. It's been 9mm for a decade or so and all that's changed has been what- micro 9mm's, then double stack micro 9mm's, and now double stack 9mm's with optics? Kinda cool but this industry needs an injection of something else (by my own opinion at least).

Optics- I'm not seeing anything for a few years now exactly "ground breaking" other than the increase in price across companies.

I may be disgruntled anymore (when did I become a curmudgeon?) but I can't help but miss Shot Shows in the past when something truly innovative was showcased. Anymore it just seems like the World's Fair and how that lost its relevancy over time.

I guess I missed that story lol
Yeah, he was flirting with some OF whore on twitter who was like 18-19 (he's in his 50's), and didn't realize other people noticed, and then he started getting ripped on left and right by folks, and so he tried to backtrack and say that it was his son who was on his phone that did it... 🤣

What’s wrong with trying to get some pussy?

One dude I can't stand. Every year he rips on the NRA (not a huge fan of either) then goes to the NRA convention and is buddy buddy with everyone there.

Well it's that time of year again.

Sounds like Primary Arms is bringing out a replacement for thir GLX 2.5-10, not actually a rumor as it was all but confirmed here. Interested to see what this turns out to be.

I did read rumour that Tikka was coming out with a few competition orientated rifles, in particular a new rimfire model. Very interesting to see what this turns out to be.
No care. Want 37mm launchers with optional NFA 40mm rifled barrels that are easily interchanged. And affordable user re-loadable shells that use .38 blanks.

At this point, I can't keep Glocks model #s straight

Anyways... Garmin should make high end ear pro
That connects with your Xero and tells you the speeds in your ear... And they should update the Garmin ShotView app to where you can watch shot strings in real time, and pause them, and go back to them later, and continue shooting in the same shot string, like the SpeedTracker app does with the BulletSeeker Mach4.

Some of brass and bullets they all stopped making 4-5 years ago would be nice.

I expect there will be a ton of 2011 type pistols since they are the new cool thing to have...
And how. Giant Rooney pistols, just slightly smaller than an MP5, only with more shit stuck on them and almost as expensive.

(which will all be for sale, used on various internet forum classified sections in 6-8 months, just like 50% of the Staccato's sold)

I just saw a video of a company with a young guy named Eli who has been permanently banned from SHOT show. All because of a stupid sign. Glock also sells horse semen and advertises such.

Well, Eli made a sign that said "Browning didn't jerk off horses." A true statement that is funny, in context. They video'd him with this sign after the show was done for the day. You can't even get into the Glock display because it is closed off. There was no one else around but they were accused of harrassment, etc. And if the company did not pull down the video, they would also be banned from SHTOT.

So, yeah, go to SHOT show where the 1A goes to die, fast and in a hurry.

What a fucking joke that is. On multiple levels.

Eli seems like a freaking awesome dude and Alchemy makes great products.

Glock has zero sense of humor but I guess they're still butthurt over losing their Fuhrer.

This industry is so damn weird sometimes.

Interest in the Tikka T1x upgrade rumors.

Link?
I've looked everywhere and not found anything, only heard the rumour on the Hide so could be complete BS.

If I had to guess I'd say they are doing a rimfire that'll match the new match/NRL/PRS rifles they are launching, but I've not seen any evidence that backs this up. Whereas you can see listing on websites for the new CF Tikka ACE Game rifles, I can't see anything for RF.

There will probably be a Tikka Ace Rimfire as well. Logic supports it.

Staccato is apparently releasing a pistol that takes Glock mags, after just releasing their own proprietary mags less than a couple years ago.

The Staccato HD (P4.5 on slide) Id say this is probably all true since pictures are floating around the web now. No grip safety and ambi controls Im interested but I wouldn't personally pick this over a Staccato-P just to use a Glock mag. Release date is 1/14/2025.

Just like the whole "Democrat vs. Republican" politicians... All a dog & pony show for the unwashed masses. Behind closed doors, they're all buddy-buddy and laughing and having a good time going to their Epstein parties and cannibalistic Spirit Cookings...

If they add an ambi slide lock but don't add an ambi mag release I'm going to die laughing

This is the weirdest coolest PCC mag solution I've ever seen. Shame that the gun itself is direct blowback though.
all they need to do is make a version of the blue component from the animation without an ejector and you could easily run CMMG's RDB system in it for a delayed blowback setup, which would be fairly interesting.

Couple that with a Dissent bufferless upper, and you've got a package that actually gives you a reason to tolerate the extra weight and receiver length.

personally I'm surprised that they did it back to back instead of something where the follower of the first becomes the feed ramp for the back half after it's expended.

I mean, I've heard of worse ideas than an off the shelf .510W

More subsonic rounds and more people buying suppressors to shoot subsonic hunting rounds normalizes the suppressor and gets us closer to getting them removed from the NFA (or the NFA axed)

RE: 7mm Backcountry: I think the cartridge was a poor choice to introduce the new tech, but we've collectively been kvetching about stagnation and lack of innovation in ammunition beyond new bullet designs, and this plus the work being done by True Velocity, Sig and Shellshock does have the potential to move the needle. Alloys with unique properties aren't cheap, but they do allow you to do things that aren't possible with standard steel and brass. So rather than rip on them I'm curious to see how it performs in more serious testing.

Personally, I'd like some updates on that Magpul partnership with Maztech.

Excellent post. I don't feel the need for 7 BC but I can appreciate it from a scientific and experimental standpoint as you suggest.

I have the Windham Weaponry Dissipator M4 A3 in 5.56.

I have 4 more rifles in .308, one being an AR-10 (also from WW.) And the 7 PRC. For what I want to do, that will cover it. But I appreciate what others want to investigate and nor would I hold myself as the example and say that what I have is all you need for, say hunting deer at 100 yards or less on your aunt's 20 acres, for example.
