Im guessing it will be reversible. If it is true it used Glock mags and Gen 4 to current mag would work in either configuration. But I also noticed that it isn't always ambi.

The smart play is to use this tech to bring higher performance to older calibers. There would be a LOT of interest in the ability to use a hotter .308, .30-06 etc, even if it needed special marking so people don’t stuff it in older guns. Basically make +P variants of common use calibers and you have both mass adoption and it really shows what the tech can do
I know it can be done, a few of us crazy bastards on here have already done it with resized Sig hybrid cases, the limits are really the metallurgy on old bolts and chambers, so just like 9mm +P, .45 Super, and high pressure 45-70, put a warning label on it and be done with it.
Wonder if TriggerTech will finally release their Tikka trigger line.

There's two issues here:
- Companies make more money releasing new and proprietary cartridges. It doesn't matter if it's been done (22arc is literally just a 22 Grendel and people still buy every box they can find).
- Older designs mean many (or sometimes most) chambers are going to be based on original SAAMI. And those chambers are not designed for modern bullets. Take the 6.8 Western for example. It's essentially just a .270 with modern bullet designs. But you can't just stick long bullets in .270 factory ammo. It won't work in almost ever .270 chamber out there.
Being able to push things 80k psi means you'll be able to use heavier for class bullets. Which is yet another component older chamber designs don't handle.
If it were even the same amount of profit to be made by just reintroducing new ammo for old designs, places like Hornady and Federal wouldn't even think about taking the time and risk of making a new cartridge.
I agree with some cartridges, however once you take into account the commonly used M118LR spec for .308, the game changes a bit and you can start to use 30cal magnum heavy bullets in the 308 case, and do so effectively even in standard 308 twist. Manufacturers already use this spec for hunting bullets (Federal's own terminal ascent line is 2.83" COAL with 175gr, and so is Hornady's heavy ELD-X precision hunter)
The other counterpoint is that higher peak pressure means that you can take the same existing bullets, and get a higher velocity in a shorter barrel length by using faster burning powders. This is exemplified very well by the shenanigans you can get up to with Shellshock's 9mm NAS3 case, where you can take a 115gr V-crown and accelerate it to almost 1800ft/s in a 5" barrel, purely because of the stronger case head web, allowing Russian-style +P++ pressures
Looks like a swing and a miss to me. Barrel isn't long or heavy enough to balance properly.

If that's a Vision chassis?? I hope they went to a roll or coil pin on the mag catch verses two opposing set screws--THAT WILL LOOSEN and require you remove the barreled action to unfuck it. I'm not an engineer but wtf?
Why would it be the Vision chassis? Its a Tikka designed and built chassis.
I was kind of asking as it's appearance is similar. So, Tikka it is--I do hope they utilize a pin on that part, couldn't tell in the pics, maybe you know?
My thoughts too, the centrefires look like they be pretty nice but I think the T1x will be hard to balance even with all mlok slots used.
A heavy contour 20-26" 22lr barrel would've been sweet.
It’s the same mag release as the CTR bottom metal from what I can tell. I shot a prototype so mine wasn’t 100%. But I shot about 300 rounds over a couple days and had no issues.
There is a 7prc listed with the ACE game. Hopefully tikka gets their other rifles in that soon too
Tikka keeping the CTR/proprietary mags is dumb- the ace lineup should have been made with AICS/AW compatibility.

I saw the “Interchangeable mag well” description. Will be interesting to see if it will come from the factory with parts needed to run AICS or if it’s another accessory you have to buy. Knowing Tikka, it will be the latter.
CTR mags are far superior to AICS mags in my opinion. AW and CTR mags are the only ones I use.
If only there was a 12rnd CTR mag then I’d run them for good.

The chassis is ambi, it is cut for left or right hand actions.

Yup, drop my AICS mags and went back to CTR ones after my first match with them.
CTR feed much nicer and they aren't 3 feet long, or atleast that's how they felt hitting every single prop having been used to CTR magazines.
Yeah I switched to an AICS chassis and they stick out almost twice as far. If only there was a 12 rnd CTR solution. Or atleast a mag extension for the 10rnd mag
There's a guy who started a thread about 3d printing TRG magazines.
He says they run well so you'd imagine 12 rounders wouldn't be too difficult.
However he's in Italy and hasn't been very active. I wanted to start making extended COAL 223 mags.
Magpul and give them the squeeze about why we haven’t heard shit about that Maztech partnership despite it headlining a couple shot shows back. Also can ask them if they’re going to update the bipod lineup to be better for precision rifle use, and if they have any plans regarding 6Arc mags since that cartridge is gaining popularity as a precision cartridge but mags are still a sticking point.

The website's configurator is more of a goal and shows what is possible, but what P7Pro actually has to sell is a little different. They operate mostly by selling batches of pistols in various configurations. Right now, the most economical option is a pistol with an Original HK P7M8 frame and a mix of other parts, for $2400. It comes with a Novak slide, standard. The optical slide has been a costly option, because it was either a one off or a beta version. However, very soon it is supposed to be a stock item in RMSc only and the cost is supposed to drop quite a bit. While costs are not clear, if a classic frame (no rail,) is O.K., you might pay a lot less than $3800. You have other reasons not to do that, but I thought I would mention.

It's absolutely how silly an ambi mag catch makes me. I guess I'm buying a 2011 for the first time.
It is true, two versions a 4" and a 4 1/2". They come with two 18 round metal coated glock pattern magazines. The optic system is into the frame as opposed to the Dawson plates with the rear iron site moved forward. Last thing that caught my attention was the firing pin block (I am assuming like a model 80 Colt).
I feel like the "roughtech lite" line already accomplished this, just poor marketing from Sako/Tikka didnt communicate the existence of it well.
Threaded from the factory, with cerakote (or similar), only difference being the t3x hunter got wood instead of the reinforced synthetic stock.
I was excited for this last year when they announced it, but then I heard it was only single-stage triggers. Not sure if that's still the case.

So appears non MOS slides can be milled later on once companies get the dimensions. I wonder if an MOS cut can be retrofitted?
