I hope that's not the case. I want Canadians sucking each other's dick for an oz of maple syrup before it's all over. Then they can learn where they really are in the pecking order, and start acting like it.Just be patient, the tariffs won't last long. At least not with Canada.
Sorry your girl lost. You should move to cuba with the dyke from HBO.I'm amazed that every time Trump does something that all the experts say is bad, people are sure he has some master plan that will work out his way. This trade war will cause real damage and I'm not talking ammo prices. Talking gas prices, layoffs and maybe trigger a recession. Problem with being a bully is eventually you unite everyone against you.
Stock market crash in 4, 3, 2, 1....
And where did we get it before we got it from China? Every fucking rare earth and commodity metal we need is sitting in the ground here in the US. The only reason we don't mine it is economics and environmental. You should go back to watching CNBC with the other dementia geriatrics.Making bullets requires Antimony, a metal we mostly get from China.

The PC term is Snow MexicanOh my....show us on this doll where the big, bad Canadian touched you and made you feel....'uncomfortable'.![]()
that is a really great and obvious point. were did we get stuff in 30s,40s,50s,60s,70s? just thinking about lg quantity raw materials rubber was the only one in decades past, prob others. but the point is we really were able to do most things we needed here. foreign trade was done for all kinds of things but we didn't suffer these huge trade imbalances that hurt the economy over all. we went from dead in the water to producing the biggest military in history in the 40s without buying everything from China. the original source of gov $ was tariffs. so,using them isn't gonna destroy the economy. gov income doesn't need to be what it is. the waste by gov is where most of our $s go.And where did we get it before we got it from China? You're not an, old man with a gun, you're an old man with a pussy. Not my people, I'm Republican. Just saying it wasn't all roses and by your logic, if he can't control the outcome even when he was president, what guarantees his success this time?
All I'm saying is that he is taking a big gamble and we will pay the price if it fails. Maybe worth it, maybe not, only time will tell.
well said, glad some people get it. The US needs to get back to being self sufficientThe tariffs will definately stimulate domestic US production of anything, crude oil, refined oil, steel. ammunition components, etc......but that takes time. Trump's strategy has several issues wrapped within the tariff initiation.....to include the fentanyl/illegals, balance of trade, stimulate domestic production( must also ease domestic permitting because of "ecological" constraints). Time to move domestic production of ammunition components, drug precursor ingredients, etc, etc......cant fight a war relying on your enemy for ammunition or medical supplies. Trump keeps utilizing the McKinley model of no income tax, tariffs paying for Govt. Yes, some pain getting there, but Trump's strategy is clear, a self sufficient USA, minimize income tax, major crime reduction as "domestic tranquility" is restored by eliminating illegals.....tariffs are a necessary first step. By the way, there are already some tariffs on China, should have been stated as an additional 10%...

So do you not have a gag reflex from drinking the Kool aid, or was it something else? You're not an, old man with a gun, you're an old man with a pussy.
You're a fucking clown
This is true. The last smelter of lead in the USA closed in 2023, yet, doing a google search using various query formats, reveals only that there is still lead mining going on, in the USA, but not where, and no mention of where the ore is shipped for smelting.
Perhaps my Google-Fu is poor, but I only searched for about a half hour. I can find production rates, and one chart even shows several countries EXCEPT the US producing Lead, but no data on where it ships for reduction.
We do have a robust recycling program, and lead/acid batteries are being recovered for scavenging of lead, however several reports state that only 3% is needed for bullet production, making ammo a very low order of importance (to economists and “greenies (hippies and conservationists and climate change idiots all lumped together ).
if anyone has information on where lead ore is shipped for smelting (probably Mexico and Canada), Let me know. Putting it out of reach of re-loaders and industry puts us in a disadvantage, certainly an inconvenience, including strategically.
We don't use mined lead for ammo. At least not directly. Approximately 99.9% of bullet lead is from recycled materials. This is true. I assure you this is only a half truth....at best. Pretty sure hard cast lead bullets existed before we outsourced. And besides that, I'm not sure lead core jacketed bullets require harder lead... might be more optimal to mix on different percentages of other metals like antimony to control the expansion if it's desired in the first place but I'm fairly sure FMJ and OTM bullets don't require it. Correct me if I'm wrong... besides that, I'm all for making trade with our allies rather than commies that hate us.Making bullets requires Antimony, a metal we mostly get from China.
The last lead refinery that took ore to ingots was killed off by the EPA a few years ago. Pretty dumb thing to do IMO EPA....We don't use mined lead for ammo. At least not directly. Approximately 99.9% of bullet lead is from recycled materials.
Chasing down mines and and all that is honestly irrelevant to anything regarding ammunition.

(And you wonder why car batteries went from $35 in the early 2000's to $150-200 now)
There is nothing guaranteed in this world. Everything must be fought and worked for.what guarantees his success this time?
All I'm saying is that he is taking a big gamble and we will pay the price if it fails. Maybe worth it, maybe not, only time will tell.
Yes it comes from china. Have you noticed a shortage during the last administration? china has already been strategically not suppling the US with needed (war material). How much do raw materials make up a large % of final product cost. Don't we import most of the nitrocellulose too?
Dude, we were paying the price already! I say for Trump to go full send on recovering our nation. I don’t think my finances could have survived another 4 years of democratic nonsense. Not my people, I'm Republican. Just saying it wasn't all roses and by your logic, if he can't control the outcome even when he was president, what guarantees his success this time?

I agree with most of this and a renegotiation makes sense. But, seems like he is starting with the nuclear option. So, yea, big gamble. There is nothing guaranteed in this world. Everything must be fought and worked for.
Gamble is not the word. In buisness, these are often calculated decisions. Calculated because, yes, they carry risk.
However, the lower the risk the less the reward. We already financially support Canada, if 25%+25% tariff are implemented, Canada will suffer way more than us, and it will only be a matter of time before they take an off ramp. Texas probably has more GDP than Canada.
My guess is so we can have access to resources and a trade on the cheap.
Maybe even a complete annexing. Either way, it’s not out fault. Canada chose to American welfare. That’s between them and their politicians.
I'm aware it's not a single issue. The value of the dollar has a lot to do with the cost increase. The national debt in 2000 was around 5.7 trillion dollars and is now over 36 trillion dollars.
No matter what happens, you can count on gun owners to cause a faux-panic and stampede, like a bunch of mindless sheep……
I'd trade my holosuns for Trijicons at Holosun pricing in a heartbeat. There is no tariff great enough to get American shooters to stop buying holosun.
The chai-knee thank you for your support.I'd trade my holosuns for Trijicons at Holosun pricing in a heartbeat.
When it comes to thermals , the American manufacturers and gov are the cause of it.The chai-knee thank you for your support.
Huh? There are zero U.S. thermal optic manufacturers? When it comes to thermals , the American manufacturers and gov are the cause of it.
HK we hate and you suck , on steroids
well,i shoot 5.45,so yea, might help my cause. ruskies are using a bunch of it theses days. maybe they will have some extra after Ukraine bites the big one.And hopefully ending The Ukraine money laundering g scheme will help with ammo price and availability
Maybe the Russian ammo ban gets lifted.well,i shoot 5.45,so yea, might help my cause. ruskies are using a bunch of it theses days. maybe they will have some extra after Ukraine bites the big one.
Maybe the Russian ammo ban gets lifted.
problem is-will mex troops DO anything? ie other than help their cartel buddies continue their activities? what % of mex LE and mil are really cartel members/supporters? bet it's a bunch.Trump WH just announced a pause to the tariffs on Mexico, after a border agreement that includes 10,000 Mexican troops who will police their side of the border to help stop human trafficking and fentanyl, among other things.
As soon as Rubio went down to Panama, the Panamanian President bent the knee and cut-off the Panamanian trade agreements with China and their Belt and Road initiative. Who knew Panama was a partner with China’s Belt & Road?

Time will tell. Trump did some good and some bad. Threats of terriffs are one thing, he is taking a gamble and he may win, or not.
Problem with success is it convinces some intelligent people that they know everything and can't fail. Trump is FA, let's hope he doesn't FO.
Making bullets requires Antimony, a metal we mostly get from China.
I hope it is a non issue. Maybe there is some great long term win here, I'm mostly afraid the next few years could be in recession. I don't see the bull stock market lasting if this trade war escalates.
Trade deficit under Trump 2016-2020 soared to highest point since Bush 2008. He increased the trade imbalance.
He said he would eliminate federal budget deficit and increased it by 77%. He is better at marketing than operations.
Your comments are myopic and overly simplistic in addressing an ongoing problem that has been an issue for last 35 years...Not my people, I'm Republican.
