Rifle Scopes Official Zero Compromise Optic News & Updates

You can get FDE ZCO mounts that match the ZCO FDE scope.
I assumed xxfly knew that but preferred a different mount, but yes, absolutely, the best match would come from the mfr 😊

Hmmmmmm

Is ZCO still selling that Block Mount with those non-registering/repeatable-for-accessories ring caps? Or are the pics old? (ZCO has the same pics on their site too)

Here are ZCO’s ring caps for their new cantilever mount. Makes way more engineering sense to this non-engineer.

I assumed all of the ring caps would be revised?

Is that a conical surface with steel threaded sleeve by chance?

You got me. I don’t own either mount. Just been amused at @BurtG ’s plight of owning a bunch of the Block Mounts (top pic) and sorta amazed that such a thing got made.

Ah well, mistakes happen. But it seems like they maybe shouldn’t still be sold?

But I could be an idiot here.

And they should offer a voluntary recall on them. People that use them to look cool and or as hand rests can keep what they have.

People that are using them for actual purpose like LRF or red dot can exchange the ring cap and rail for free

2025 , buying “top tier” stuff and still have to sort it and change out lacking equipment

For any ring top mounted diving board or RDS plate I would not trust to hold zero if there is some type of lateral impact (rifle falling on the side, whacking it into a barricade, etc.) How often and "if" this will occur is something each shooter should test and verify. I think of these (ring accessories) more as stop gap solutions, but that doesn't stop me from buying plates and diving boards for my Spuhr mounts for example, I just need to understand this is not the most secure method. Something like the diving board actually milled into the top ring (like what Vortex offers) has a better chance at retaining zero but maybe one of the best designs is what ARC did with their M-Brace where any above scope mounting platform is actually secured to the base of the mount (and not the top ring) providing for a much more rigid lockup. I've been wondering if using a steel sleeve or even a steel plate underneath the ring with a milled out section to the the scope face would assist in a more solid lockup where you could use higher torque to sandwhich between the diving board/rds plate and the steel plate underneath. With the gaining popularity of piggybacking RDS's and more recently WMLRF I would think this is a problem waiting for a better solution. Or maybe for many it's not even a problem, similar to if your rifle takes a fall before a match or a hunt, you want to recheck zero and if off then readjust, same thing with scope or ring/mount mounted devices - recheck zero, but wouldn't it be better if we had a solution that held zero better under adverse conditions.

We will! We have a new website team updating everything.
Post a link when you do please. Also maybe you can tug on huber et al a ear and have them make the same thing. But much lower. Like the Hawkins has. People didn’t buy credit card sized Mars and low profile voodoo m or Utc xii. Just to have a skyscraper LRF mount

ZCO spotted with this UA sniper team.
Can you blame them!!! Interesting the guy on the right is using an over the barrel bipod, I’ve been looking for a good one but all I can find is one made in the UK and the US rep ghosted me last time I tried to get in touch.

You’ve no doubt seen this post, but what the heck.

When I was looking for the Fortmeier, Roedale in Germany had them, and had attachment methods that other sites did not detail. Ultimately I passed.

Maybe you want a rigid bipod with little slack in the legs. If not, but getting a higher apex above the bore is the main focus, I’d go Elite Iron. It’s a little flexy, but on purpose. For example, the 4AW guy showed why he designed flex into his similarly-designed bipod. I could dig up the vid if need be.

On my panning version, at least, I like the rubber feet. They don’t scratch the barrel when the stowed bipod is on the gun and in the case.

Quick attach with KRG chassis is slick

Otherwise the deep-saddled LRA Lite Tactical F-Class achieves much the same thing (higher apex, or lower bore, whatever) and is has more flexibility to detach and reattach to a different gun. I own that bipod too.

The EI is sorta set to a certain mount-to-barrel dimension. Fine if you have a number of guns with just that dimension, otherwise it’s a dedicated solution.

LRA also recently came out with ski feet. I bought some and they are nice. I’ve waffled between rubber, spike, and ski feet for years lol. Ski are nice for rodent shooting with a rigid non-panner like the LRA as you can slide it to pivot quickly.

That is the Fortmeier bipod. I have that one or a very similar model on my AR-10. I made some adapters from aluminum tube so I can use the large Atlas bipod rubber feet on it.

Thanks, Fortmeier is the one I was looking at last year but gave up when company didn’t get back in touch. Don’t remember who it was now. Unfortunately for my purpose it had to mount to a top picatinny rail as it is for my LMT MWS because I have multiple barrels and like to quick swap them, but LMT screwed the pooch when they designed the handguard to not be large enough diameter to swap barrels with any m-lok accessories 🤬. But maybe it was a blessing in disguise as I’m considering selling some of my barrels and going with the 16” 308 piston as primary and be done with it.

Sorry to derail thread. Love to see ZCO with SF…
