Apparently lots of activity under Mount Spurr….

We need a good volcano in NA!

Be some good tv!
Slow news day for you? That thing has been rattling for years.

Also, we have at least one volcano pop off every other year or so. Couple pics I took years ago down on the Alaska peninsula, 10,000 foot Mt Shishaldin with lava shooting out of the summit.

@sirhrmechanic So, while I meant my comment to be more sarcastically humorous and a touch informational, this one might actually pop. It’s on schedule with previous recorded eruptions. It’s the closest volcano to Anchorage, about 80 miles west.

I was in college when Mt Redoubt popped, runs on grocery stores emptied shelves, every air filter for furnaces, vehicles, and whatever else needs a filter were gone in about a hour. On the aviation campus we had one of the windshields of a 747 that flew through the ash cloud of the ‘92 Spur eruption dead center. Felt like 10 grit sandpaper on the outside and completely unable to see through. Story is, they lost 3 of 4 engines, got one or two back to make the airport. Being college kids, we had a proper eruption party.
