Accuracy International AT-XC

Oh I like that! I sent him a message to verify that it works with the folding stock and what he'd require in terms of an order to get a few over here.
Sounds good. If you need more than one to order let me know I’ll throw in. I believe someone in the Ai thread confirmed it worked with a folder too

Yes, an AT-X with a bridge, rail, hinge and comp trigger has 90% of everything the AT-XC has. The bolt and action mostly make up the rest. A loaded out, lightly used 3rd Gen AT-X for $4500 or less would be a better value.

I liked the video, too, but I'm not the dude in the video.
Oh well, you posted it, so you get the credit. The differences between the ATXC and the ATX are really negligible in my opinion. The extra cost isn’t worth it, especially if you can find an ATX on the previously owned market.

Apparently the older ones were better from day 1 than the post-pandemic "AT" marked actions put in the AT-X. Not sure if anyone has ever got to the bottom of this. Did they cut corners on some coatings or machining steps or something?

Not sure about that one, but I put my older AT action in an ATX chassis (aftermarket and much cheaper than retail), very glad I did. That action is slick as snot…

That bolt lift was so heavy on the barricade he was having a hard time talking 🤣
Yeah, he’s a bit out of shape haha poor guy.

Near the very end (~19:49 onwards) it was interesting to see that the guest PRS shooter (who shoots an AT-X) had quite a few hitches when closing the bolt on the host’s AT-XC.

He also stated the bolt lift didn’t feel any different than his AT-X at 20:45.

The host didn’t seem to have as many same hitch issues. Maybe the gun was more broken in and he filmed the sections out of sequence? Or to me it looked like the host was running it quite a bit harder than the PRS guy. The host did have a hitch at 17:20, however.

I will say that the AT-XC trigger does feel quite a bit better than that of my former AT-LE and my buddies 2nd Gen AT-X. As far as the bolt lift goes it doesn’t feel like it’s noticeably better but it is better.

I have a 23 AT. Before I sold my AX (‘21 bought new, didn’t track round count but low) I compared the bolt lift with the AT.

The AX’s bolt lift was slightly, but noticeably, lighter. I think it was a little easier to close too. At that point the AT was brand new, no rounds on it.

My point is it seems bolt lift is both a function of rounds shot (of course) and just some random juju (clearances?) that total the up right way. Edit: also maybe the lube used and where they put it.

Through the years, people report lots of different “feels.” Seems there’s a lot of variation out there, bolt lift-wise, even on the same older epoxied actions.

This is coming from a guy named “fairy”…
I have no clue who you are or why you seem to be a little obsessed with talking about homo stuff to me personally. It seems to me like all of the “gay” talk is projection, it’s ok little buddy, you can feel free to come out in this safe space.

Took the AT-XC out to 1000 this morning, easy button with the 6.5 Creedmoor but what a difference between a lot of factory Hornady 140 ELD-M's circa 2018 to the new/current (2024) lot fresh from the factory. Granted I shot three times as many from the new lot but man what a difference in ES and SD and the velocity was averaging a solid 40fps slower as well. I was dialing 9 mils of elevation at 1000 with the newer slower stuff and holding 1.6mils of wind for a steady 12-14mph crosswind.

I swapped out the grip to a MDT Vertical Elite, that grip with an ever so slight rearward cant (1-2 degrees) made for a much better experience with the combination of the Sokek Solutions Thumb Rest. I'll continue to run it for the next few range trips and see what I think of it long term.

Light as I can get it. 24" barrel. 11LB 1.2 OZ
This is not a dig at you or your goals of achieving a lighter rifle - moreover I know that it's just because I've been conditioned to be used to something different - but that buttstock looks like weaponized sacrilege on an AI. I've been reliably informed that looking cool on the bench is half the battle. Not to worry, though - there should be a church of AI-entology nearby where you can ask forgiveness for your aesthetic trespasses (as just as we forgave Beretta's ARX-100 trespasses against us).

But in all seriousness, I had no idea the buttstock was swappable with anything else. Is there an adapter you used?

The purpose for this is to make open light with a atxc (under 12lbs with a bipod and scope). While I agree that this looks like an abomination to an AI, this is 12oz. A factory one is 32. I’ve had issues with many nice custom rifle manufacturers parts at matches. There’s one manufacturer I haven’t had any issues with…

I just want a an left hand AT-XC
There are a lot of left hand sku ai AT-XC on Eurooptic. Id call put a $250 deposit down in the first one that comes available in the chamber you want, or in the mean time, get a barrel cut as ai prefit is simple, and take the first left available and screw your own tube on.

They require 20 percent. I had one down until they told me they wouldn’t get them Q1. I’m not gonna let EO sit on a 20% deposit without an actual date.
