Rifle Scopes 2.5-10x32 FFP Vortex PST and Recoil any field experience on this model yet ?

I have two of them, on a .22 wmr Anschutz and FN Scar 16s so not he most recoil, but they're handling it just fine. The only thing I dislike about the scope is the length. Oh so long when these days scopes are getting more and more compact. Similar in length to many 14-16x scopes.

Rifle Scopes Calling all mark 6 owners

That's great you got the 2.5-10 NF bones, but comparing that to the MK6 is a bit of a stretch. They're not exactly cousins of each other...18x vs 10x and ffp vs sfp. I think the NF F1 would be a much closer comparison if you were in the market for that type of scope.

Rifle Scopes Calling all mark 6 owners

Yeah this is normal, both of mine exhibited this. Someone in a different post asked a Leupold rep about it. Basically no adjustment is made until it clicks over. The slight play in the locking turret does not make any actual elevation changes. When you actually turn it, listen for the...

Rifle Scopes What scope for my new Anschutz .22LR ?

Excellent, I have that same scope on my SCAR 16s which I shoot out to 400+ yards. I was not a fan on Vortex in the past as I always thought their glass was subpar even their scopes offered many features for their cost. This scope is very clear all the way upto 10x and does not suffer from...

Rifle Scopes What scope for my new Anschutz .22LR ?

I use a Vortex 2.5-10x32mm on my Anschutz 1720d. On my Remington 597 .22LR I use a Leupold MK6 3-18x44mm with H58 Horus reticle. Parallax adjustment is important to have.

    Rifle Scopes Hensoldt 3,5-26x56

Thank you for the review. The turrets sound similar to Premier Heritage MTC turrets which also have alot of clicks (I think DT 14 MIL per revolution) and the detent on every MIL which makes overshooting the intended click quite common. What really looks great from the pictures is the scope's...

Rifle Scopes Mark 6 Leupold 3-18x44 overview

I did a fairly detailed comparison review a few months ago of my Leupold MK6 3-18x44 versus my Premier LT 3-15x50 which I felt were similar priced, magnification range, non-illuminated, ffp scopes. Even added some pictures...however only one person commented which made me sad :( Overall the...

Rifle Scopes Review: 2.5-10x32 Vortex Viper PST FFP

I get that feeling too, the glass is very good, high resolution with decent contrast but the image appears small...VERY similar to the feel I got on my Leupold MK4 scopes. When looking at something at the same power as my old NightForce, the image in the eyepiece just seemed a bit smaller...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Question about Red Dot for SIG P226

Thanks Padom, that's exactly the type of answer I was looking for! Even better that an instructor carries the smaller MOA dot. I was scared doing the math in my head...3.5 MOA looks decent size above an ACOG sitting 3 inches away from my eye but moving it 1.5 feet it could appear 6x smaller...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Question about Red Dot for SIG P226

So I just sent out my slide to TSD Combat Systems to get it milled and have a red dot installed. From the reviews I saw I decided on the Docter III intstead of the Trijicon RMR because it seems like they really beefed up the housing on the new model and it has relatively clear glass instead...

Dissapointed at .22 WMR long distance performance

Wow Softcock you're absolutely right! I plugged the values into my ballistics calculator and realistically at 300 yards the best IS just using subsonic .22LR. The wind drift is lower than .22 WMR or .17 HMR that is definitely not what I expected. Although you do have to account for the 40 moa...

Dissapointed at .22 WMR long distance performance

I will try some subsonic .22LR ammo next time to see if the accuracy is better. I'd definitely like to see how the transonic barrier affects other similar calibers. This is why I am very curious if any members have tried .17 HMR at 300+ yards. Although it is a more accurate round than .22...

Dissapointed at .22 WMR long distance performance

Yeah me neither bobtodrick, definitely let me know of your results at the longer ranges. I got about 1.5 moa at 200 yards which is very much within the expected range of accuracy. The conditions were great, almost no winds, tiny gusts no more than 5mph. I chose to shoot on this day just to...

Dissapointed at .22 WMR long distance performance

I agree bullet shape and type may play a role but these are almost identical caliber and the Accutips are listed as 0.137 BC while the CCI AR-Tacticals are listed at 0.138 BC. The other thing I'm thinking of perhaps barrel twist rate being too slow and at some point downrange it starts...

Dissapointed at .22 WMR long distance performance

Thanks for the detailed explanation about the transonic barrier Lawman, but I was using supersonic .22LR ammo. It is rated 1200 fps and I heard the supersonic crack sound after each shot. I would have thought since the .22lr would slow down and go subsonic much sooner, the impact would be even...

Dissapointed at .22 WMR long distance performance

I would agree with you guys if I were using subsonic .22LR ammo. Except CCI AR-Tactical is supersonic as well. Somewhere along the lines of 1200fps if I'm not mistaken so it is also affected by the transonic barrier.

Dissapointed at .22 WMR long distance performance

I've been wanting to try this test for some time now. Waited a few weeks for a relatively calm day with winds less than 5 mph to take my .22 WMR to the 330 yard berm of my local range for long distance shooting with two types of ammo. Up to this point I had not done anything longer than 200...

Rifle Scopes Used USO SN3 3-17 or new Leupold Mk6 3-18?

I had a MK6 in TMR reticle but have recently traded it with another Hide member for their MK6 in H58 Horus reticle. Since the scope is on my .22LR plinker it is has worked out very well. With a 100 yard zero it lets me use the reticle and shoot out to 330 yards (max at my range) without having...

Rifle Scopes Review: 2.5-10x32 Vortex Viper PST FFP

They took care of it super fast. Literally got it back within 2 weeks from the time I shipped it which incredibly fast since I'm on the east coast. The problem was a piece of anodizing came off and stuck itself to the glass. Could not get it off no matter how many times I smacked it against a...
