New Savage Build - 260 Rem

I am really liking it. I'm already saving the pennies for my 223 trainer. If I build a third rifle (really leaning towards a 338 Edge), it'll go in an XLR as well.

New Savage Build - 260 Rem

It is different :) I don't think I've ever actually seen a yellow rifle at any range I've ever shot at. I did want this to be different from all the other black rifles out there. edit: plus I want it known, I am not a sniper wannabe :D

New Savage Build - 260 Rem

Hoping to get time this weekend, but have family coming in. My brothers and I will be using this to see who can shoot the best and hasn't lost their shooting skills. Thank you. Original choice was Burnt Bronze but one day hastily decided I was going to go with something different and Corvette...

New Savage Build - 260 Rem

Bought a Savage 10 short action (4.4 spacing) last June with intent of selling the parts and doing a build. Over the last couple of years, my buddy has helped me build a 223 (my trainer), a 308 (sold to fund this build) and my current build - 260 Rem. He helped me put the barreled action...

To Muzzle Brake or NOT to muzzle brake.

I put a brake on my 260. I am actually picking it up from my smith this evening. I put 6 rounds down the tube to actually feel recoil. It doesn't recoil much (142gr SMK @ 42.5gr of H4350). I do like to do extended range sessions (hours long practicing breathing, blah, blah, blah). The...

H4350: typical lot to lot verification

I have access to a Chrony and will check speeds once load development is done.

Has anyone shot the 178gr hpbt blem bullets?

With Hornady you'll find firsts that are a couple of tenths off. Same can be said of most of the manufacturers firsts.

Has anyone shot the 178gr hpbt blem bullets?

I bought a bunch of blems in various calibers and all of them seem to be just color. I have 1k .264 140gr Amax coming in today and I am hoping color is the issue as well. Saved me $100 on 1k bullets.

H4350: typical lot to lot verification

Would you redo the ladders, but with a narrower band based on current accuracy load.

H4350: typical lot to lot verification

I have an 8# jug of H4350 bought well before the hysteria. I am going to do load development on Hornady 140gr Amax and Sierra 142 SMK for a 260 Rem. When this jug runs out, I'll buy another (have 2x 8# jugs on back order at MSS). How much variation should I expect? What does everyone normally...

    7mm SAUM??

Have your barrel yet? If not, give Jim Briggs @ Northland Shooters Supply a call. He does Criterion Barrels (CBI) which are Savage pre-fits. I've got one in 260 Rem and I know that the 7 RSAUM is a chambering that he does. I'm looking to do a 7 RSAUM next year. My 223 trainer is using a 300...

    50gr Z-max instock

OOS. At that price, I am glad PV had the 50gr V-Max in stock. I was able to pick up 2k for just a smidge more.

What to expect with a JP brake on my AAC-SD 308 ?

I just had one installed on my 260 Rem (mostly for aesthestics, but recoil reduction for long range sessions). I should get it back from my smith in the next day or two. Interested in the comments.

    XLR optic question

An EGW one piece is also fine. Send it to Kyle and he'll trim it up and reannodize it and send it with your chassis. I did the same for mine.
