    IDF Mauser M-66 SP

Those cases, look exactly like the ones we used on my HS rifle team, back in the 80's. This thread was worth it just for that. Still looking for an equivelant today...something between the cheap flimsy cases and a bulky pelican

Are the FN SPR enthusiasts extinct?

The last two pics are the 4th loaded cartridge, and how it pivots in the mag well, the next round will do the same..the last two..ie: first two loaded seem to work be ok Could it be the wrong follower? ETA: There is also about 1/4" of room behind the follower in the box...the follower can slide...

Are the FN SPR enthusiasts extinct?

This is an FN PBR I bought recently from a local seller. It's a control round feed action, that originally came in teh Hogue stock with the DBM. Had my local smith, Barlow Custom in the SLC area, pillar and glass bed it in a Mcmillan stock I had gotten from Midwest when they were closing them...

    What’s your coolest firearm?

Coolest... This doesn't look like much. It's an Essex frame, with a Colt Slide, Clark barrel and comp. But... It was built and owned by Ron Wannanan. You can find his name in Col Beckwiths book. He was the original armorer to Delta. I met Ron in about 87 or 88, he taught me to shoot a handgun...

    Mount options for a '69 push feed M70 Target...UPDATED

The T6 has a Duplex reticle, my T10 has a plain crosshair. It also has some shmutz on the interior lens. I'll send it to that place that blueprints them, and get a new reticle. Either the Mil Dot or a Duplex with something like a 1/2 MOA dot. The plan for now...is to send the scope out, when I...

    Mount options for a '69 push feed M70 Target...UPDATED

I was finally able to get the M70 Target to the range. Went to an indoor range with a 100yd tunnel. After using some left over hunting ammo and some American Eagle ball..I was not feeling good about it. Then I shot this group with 168FGMM.... Admittedly, it's a cherry picked 5 shot group...

    Mount options for a '69 push feed M70 Target...UPDATED

So, I got the rifle back from Barlow. He mounted a Weaver T6 in a Redfield mount with 4 screw rings. I went with the T6, cause my T10 needs to get the lens cleaned and change from a plain crosshair to maybe just a duplex. Barlow also found a cracked hinge plate for the floorplate... luckily he...

    Mount options for a '69 push feed M70 Target...UPDATED

Initially we were talking about setting the barrel back and a recrown.... He had the shims for the floorplate....and wanted to do the magnum bolts. Said he would have to make some sort of mixture to draw out the oil in the wood, that might take a multiple applications.... So, as usual the...

    Mount options for a '69 push feed M70 Target...UPDATED

So, an update. I got the rifle in yesterday, and brought it by Barlow custom in the SLC area. He's been pretty good to me, and had an FN PBR ready for me. He liked the gun, but found some issues.. Crown was dinged up Bolt would close on a no/go guage but not a field guage. Said it was safe to...

    Mount options for a '69 push feed M70 Target...UPDATED

I just ordered a Turner sling for it, a second. I don't want to go down the road of trying to replicate a specific rifle, like the one above. It becomes a rabbit hole running down this and that, finding the correct part, etc. If the right McMillan comes along for the right price, I ight go...

    Mount options for a '69 push feed M70 Target...UPDATED

Thanks guys. The Redfield is what I was leaning to. Once I get it in, I'll post some pics. I'll bring by my local smith, he's working on an FN PBR for me right now, and get his feel for it' condition. He might have a mount in the back. If not, I'll ping Dan..

    Mount options for a '69 push feed M70 Target...UPDATED

I won a Model 70 Target on the GBer the other day. It is a push feed, clip slotted, factory barrel, marksman stock. G prefix, if I'm doing my research right, is about '69 vintage. I already have two steel tube Weaver's, a T10 & T6 with the exposed turrets, so thats the plan for a scope. I been...

    FN PBR price check

Turns out, it was an XP, with the classic controlled round feed. I almost just gave him his asking price when I saw it. Gunsmith gave it a good look thru, said it was excellent. Offered the guy $1K and he can keep the scope. He jumped on it. I left it with my smith, to pillar & glass bed it into...

    FN PBR price check

Local guy has an FN PBR for sale. Controlled round push feed. OD green houge stock with the original DBM mags, says he has a few extras. Cheap Nikon p308 scope and knock off bipod. $1400..."negotiable"....$1400 seems pretty high, but I've noticed guns are more expensive out this way, was the...

Stocks options for Rem 600 McMillan, MPI, Boyds?

Well, there is an FN PBR for sale locally. I already have a Mcmillan HTG stock for it, and hinged bottom metal...so I think I'm just gonna buy that, and sell or otherwise sideline the R600
