Rifle Scopes Most Superior One Inch Scope?

I have always been a Leupold guy but recently ended up with a Swarovski Z5 in 3.5-18x44 on a trade and liked it so much, I had to get another one for my other hunting rifle. As I get older, I like the added power from my used to be normal 3-9 or 3.5-10x shunting scopes.

Hunting & Fishing Caliber for elk hunt

Smallest caliber I have taken elk with was a .30-06 with 165 grain bullets. Working on getting a 300 PRC to use some bigger bullets...just because I want to. Know lots of people who successfully hunt with everything from a 6mm and up. Be comfortable with whatever you shoot. Only way to get...

Hunting & Fishing 2020 Hunting Thread: Post Your Kills!

Successful Wyoming Antelope Hunt in area 27 - Thunder Basin National Grasslands. Got both of these on day two before noon! Had a great time! Eric was shooting a Bergara B-14 in 6.5 PRC and I was shooting a Kimber Mountain Ascent in 6.5 Creedmoor. Both shots were right around 240 yards.

    Sidearms & Scatterguns Trap shooters

I shoot trap and skeet and use a Browning XT Trap and Browning XS Skeet. Wouldn't mind trying something a bit more expensive but I shoot both of these pretty well. I haven't shot Sporting Clays but am looking forward to trying this spring.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Got bit by 1911 bug.

Welcome to the 1911 club. You started out with some nice ones. As others have mentioned above, 1911s can be very addicting! I started out with a couple Springfield Champions back in the 80s and haven't looked back! They are fun to shoot and if you want to get some cheap pratice in, buy a .22...

    Giraud Trimmer

Re: Giraud Trimmer Looking forward to getting one for me. I am jealous of you right now. I still have 6 more months until I come home from 2 years in Okinawa Japan and finally settle down after 20+ years in the Marines. Enjoy - I hear they are the best and make quick work of the trimming...

Sidearms & Scatterguns What 45 to buy????

Re: What 45 to buy???? I have owned lots of different .45s (I prefer 1911s) but if you are up in the air on what to get, see if a friend has some you can try out and if that is not possible, go to a shooting range and check a couple out and shoot them. Get what fits right, feels right and...

    rcbs customer service

Re: rcbs customer service +1 for great customer service. I have always received excellent support even when the fault was clearly mine - I won't mention any specific stupid error I made, but suffice to say that RCBS always worked with me and always went above and beyond to keep me happy...

    Berry bullet

Re: Berry bullet I haven't used these bullets exactly but have used various Berry's Bullets in 9mm, .40 S&W, .38 Spl, and .45ACP with excellent results. I haven't had any issue with leading but i don't push them very fast. I think you will be pleased once you get a good load for them. Good...

    Photos Alaskan Moose...

Re: Alaskan Moose... That is an awesome moose. I got one in North Idaho last year and they just don't get that big there! I would love to go to Alaska for a hunt like that. Congratulations again.

    223 powders

Re: 223 powders I use H335 for all my .223 needs - my prairie dog loads with 50 gr V-maxs - FMJ loads for fun! I have found H335 to meter extremely well. I used to load IMR 3031 but that didn't meter well at all so took a lot of time. It shot well, but was not worth the extra effort IMHO.

    Best Dies for 45acp

Re: Best Dies for 45acp I have used the taper crimp dies that came with the RCBS or Hornady or whatever in my single stage press and have since switched to the Lee Factory Crimp Dies. they are very easy to use and give a consistent crimp as advertised. I have only had positive experiences...

    rcbs or lee ?

Re: rcbs or lee ? I like the RCBS line of products. I don't have much hands on experience with the Lee products other than their Factory Crimp Dies (use them a lot!), the Lee Hand Primer (I have two, one set up for large and the other for small) and the Lee universal deprimer. The Lee...

    bullet/primer combo for socom 16

Re: bullet/primer combo for socom 16 Regarding the slamfire issue, try the CCI #34 primer. They come in a plain white box. They are supposedly equivalent to the magnum primers but have a greater distance from te tip of the anvil to the bottom of the primer cup which is supposed to help...

    Suggestions with first progressive

Re: Suggestions with first progressive $285 is a pretty fair price for a Dillon SDB. Sounds like it would be a good match for what you are using as well. I use a Dillon 550 and am happy with it. Let us know if you get the Dillon SDB. I have only heard god things about it.

What type of bipod should I get?

Re: What type of bipod should I get? I had several Harris non-swivel bipods and slowly replaced them all with the swivelling Harris bipods. They are that much better in opinion. Muche easier to correct the cant in your rifle on uneven ground.
