    Rifle vice for load testing?

I have good success with my Uncle Bud's Bulls Bag, the large one, and a rear bag. That being said there is still a lot of shooter technique and setup that comes into play. I try to position the gun in the rest, hold the gun, nest the buttstock firmly in my shoulder, gain a sight picture...

FL sizing belted cases; what am I missing?

Nothing wrong with head spacing on the shoulder with a belted cartridge. I do it with my 7mm RM Sauer 202. Excellent accuracy. I think you need to give a bit of credit to the dies you are using. Did you chamber the resized cases in your gun for fit check?

    NFL backpedalling

Interesting watching how they try to trivialize the issue of disrespecting our country. Some channels don't film the anthem thinking if they hide the issue of disrespect it won't be a problem and people will watch. Likely this issue, in the eyes of the sponsors, will be trivialized to the...

    Case trimmers

What cartridges? I picked up a World's Cheapest Trimmer for 223 for ~$25 delivered to my house. Love it. They do 308 and a few others.

    Ready to start loading

You can make very concentric and accurate ammo on just about any press/die combination if you pay attention to detail and learn proper technique for the equipment you have. There in no equipment panacea that overcomes ignorance of use and inexperience. The mechanics of reloading are dirt...

Case Neck Tension with Stainless Steel cleaned brass

Do you use a deburring tool, inside and out, after you SS clean the brass?

Lee Classic Cast or Lee Classic Turret?

I got both the Classic Cast Single Stage and Classic Turret then went out and bought a second Classic Turret that I take to the range for on-site load development. Just swap out turrets with the bench mounted press and load. The Classic Turret is very nice but I favor the single stage for...

    Another OCW help thread.

I've never had much luck with the OCW with targets set at 100 yards. 200 yards works but 300 yards is even better to get vertical dispersion to make load range decisions.

My theory on neck tension. Am I way off base?

Pulling the expander ball up through the case neck will not alter neck wall thickness. It will only expand the inside of the neck to the desired size. Neck turning makes the neck wall thickness the same all around the neck uniforming the brass and the tension it places on the bullet. Better...

    Accurizing Mini-14

The guys over on Shooting Sports Forum can help you. My mini is under 1.5 MOA with my handloads. Never fired any factory fodder so I can't make a comparative statement.

Redding T7 and Lee Collet die setup

I don't have a T-7 but I do have a Redding Ultramag. If you are blowing the cap out of the die you are using way too much force. One sign of over-force will be vertical lines on the case neck. I you see that you are still using too much force, back off.

Just Finished the Reloading Bench Build

Mike 402 - Those elevated press mounts do a lot to distribute force and stabilize the press. Good job. When I built my bench I straddled the 5-1/2" fake wood uprights with 5/16" steel plate and mounted the presses directly over the 42" uprights to minimize flex (I like to stand when I reload)...

Just Finished the Reloading Bench Build

Nice job and I agree, you have to build what you want. This is mine. I used Floor and Stair paint to finish it. The stuff dried like iron.

    Done with Retumbo

Looks like a good day shooting to me. What scope do you use? Retumbo is my go-to powder for my 7RM but I don't have a long range available to me like you do. Best I can do is 400 yards.

Unusual request for a phone consultation

Take a small piece of aluminum foil and fold it a few times and insert it under the case when it is in the shell holder. You can achieve the same affect with a feeler gage. It will raise the case in the holder enough to bump the shoulder back and allow it to chamber in your gun. This has the...

Neck Turning - Inconsistent Results for a Newbie (Video)

What does the inside of the turned neck look like? You might try cleaning it with a bore brush when chucked up in the drill. I clean the inside of my case necks prior to turning.

Is your cutter installed properly. The cutting bit has a taper on it. Make sure it is not in backwards.

Neck Turning - Inconsistent Results for a Newbie (Video)

Triston makes a good point. The expandiron is supposed to size the neck to the proper size for the reamer or pilot. You might measure there first.
