    Well it tells me if it was loaded too hot. Being that it is factory Hornady, probably not. I'd send it back. Remington has had quality control issues.

    Parallax is noticeably touchy, call Athlon and tell them what you're experiencing and see if they can help troubleshoot. If they think it's worth sending then send it.

    I would personally pass on the non razor lines of vortex. I dont think their failure rates are sky high, but are not what I want to use and not question my gear.

    Christmas tree reticles are helpful in no dial stages, short time stages, and making corrections. As far as weight goes, it helps mitigate recoil and can help you spot impacts, and make your own corrections, but thats just my opinion. I have an 18 pound rifle. Some guys go with 20 pounds plus.

    Tikka's are a great choice. If you dont like the chassis, sell it and get a different option. My comp rifle is a 2015 CTR action. Still holds its own with some of the customs. Of course I've rebarreled and done other things, but the action is still good to go.

    I would suggest calling a few of the hide vendors if 300 is the reason not to get a razor gen ii. You'd be surprised.
