Trijicon Tenmile 5-50x56 Vs Vortex Gen II 4.7-27x56

I have shot out to 1200yds and found that 30x was too much (gotta spot your misses!). Gonna say that 50x doesn't seem worthwhile, especially since huge magnification like that tends to come at an optical cost.

Rifle Scopes SHOT Show 2021 Rumor Mill and What's Coming

Brownells is apparently going to release the 1-8x24 MPO: https://www.ammoland.com/2021/01/brownells-debuts-new-optic-gives-prizes-during-not-show-event/ If this is the same optic that Soldier Systems claimed had fiber optic illumination, it may be the optic that finally unseats the Razor Gen...

BRAND NEW FROM VORTEX - Fury with AB, Tripods, Prism Sights, SPARC Solar

The new Spitfires look somewhat uninspired... where's my dual-circle+fiber optic dot reticle?

    LPVO opinions

Razor 1-10x, hands-down. Only time I'd choose an NX8 over it would be a very substantial price difference (like $400-$500). Vortex really knocked it out of the park with the Gen3.

Kestrel Ballistic and MagnetoSpeed Join Forces!

Shooting "for real" with it on the barrel is a terrible idea, and I say that as a happy MS owner. It's close enough to get on paper for a 50 or 100yd zero, but it definitely shifts PoI substantially.

    Mark7 Evolution or Revolution?

I just bought a Mark7 Evolution for reloading blaster 223 in bulk, so I guess we'll find out how it goes. It's definitely more than an 1100, and I do expect more of a learning curve, but 10 flexible stations is just a huge advantage. I also like that I can have an officially supported autodrive...

Accessories FS: MDT full-length skeleton rifle stock (FDE), 6X and 6.5 Norma Giraud case holders

MDT Full Length Skeleton Stock (FDE), carbine interface, with fixed-to-carbine adapter: Bought this as a blem, and it's seen some light use. Comes with a carbine-to-fixed adapter. Replaced it with a short stock plus folding stock adapter. Just to be clear, this is for MDT chassises (is that a...

Kestrel Ballistic and MagnetoSpeed Join Forces!

I'm hopeful that we'll see an upgraded control box and/or a dedicated BT interface with app. Kestrel's done both before, so I think my optimism has justification. I don't necessarily see the value of having the MS talk straight to the Kestrel, though.

Rifle Scopes Opinions on LVPOs for under $650

Have you considered the Vortex Viper PST Gen2? It's in your price range.

Rifle Scopes SHOT Show 2021 Rumor Mill and What's Coming

This is true to some extent, but some companies have huge holes in their product lines. Both Bushnell and Burris have no current production high-end LPVOs. Burris also really needs to get those illuminated XTRIIIs out the door.

Rifle Scopes SHOT Show 2021 Rumor Mill and What's Coming

An XTR III 1-8x FFP LPVO with daylight bright illumination that came in at $1400-$1500 (or less!) would be a big seller, especially if the reticle didn't suck and it had adjustable parallax. I think people are looking for that next step up from the Razor Gen 2-E, but maybe not willing to go all...

Rifle Scopes SHOT Show 2021 Rumor Mill and What's Coming

As long as you guys are gonna finally release a successor to the SMRS LPVO line, I'll be happy. There were some cool ideas in those scopes, but they really were not competitive with the newest generation of LPVOs from Vortex, Sig, Trijicon, etc.

Rifle Scopes how important is illumination to you?

I don't hunt. When I'm using a scope, it's for action shooting competition, carbine classes, or plinking at ELR (800yds+). I think illumination is always an asset, but it's pretty rare for me to use much of it while doing ELR, unless my target happens to be on a dark-ish background that's...

Sig is releasing new Tango6Ts with new reticles, including the US Army Direct View Optic. They stealth announced them in the press release, and I've seen them in some online catalogs.

Rifle Scopes Sig Tango 4 Thoughts? Esp 4-14x44

OK, I finally managed to get my Tango4 4-16x (DEV-L MRAD) out to the range, riding my Kel-Tec RFB. In a funny coincidence, I also had my 6.5 Grendel bolt gun with Tango6 3-18x (DEV-L MOA). Now, I had a malfunction with my mount that kept me from zeroing it (the ADM mount was being canted upwards...

@koshkin I want to hear about the Meprolight 4x. Was considering one for my 18" Tavor to keep in theme. Is it daylight bright?

Been way too busy to haul mine out, between classes and matches. Hoping to do so by the end of the year.

Rifle Scopes Need suggestions for LPVO

Depends which SMRS. Lack of daylight brightness really hurts the FFP reticle on 1x. It's otherwise a pretty decent scope with spectacular glass - I run mine on a couple of rifles I don't use for action shooting. Very good scope if you're mostly running it in 8.5x mode, to be sure.
