Recon Bag From Precision Underground Rifle Gear

Got out to use the bag again today in a variety of circumstances. On angled logs and rocks the grippy material really showed its value. The rifle was very solid, especially when the bag was slightly compressed between the bipod attachment and the magazine.

Mini review of Precision Underground Comp bag (pics)..

Got to use the bag some more today, I found it very useful in a variety of circumstances. With the bag slightly pinched between the magazine and the bipod, the rifle was very steady. I used it on rocks angled logs and sharp surfaces the grippy material really shows its value here.

    Axiom vs Vector Curtis Actions

On my vector the way their chambered is just slightly beyond hand tight. This is how the gunsmith did it, I had planned on hand tightening them and using the set screw. I've heard from several others that it is very repeatable as long as you use the same amount of torque on each set screw.

    Foundation Stocks - Great service!

Recently had the same experience with John and Foundation stocks. Got my stock in mid January within days of promised delivery date. It is the single nicest precision rifle component I have personally owned. It's perfect.

    ELR on the East Coast

Rock Solid shooting solutions, Joe Burdick, is running ELR matches at Arena Training Facility in Blakeley, Georgia. 2nd match is in next week or two, Feb 22-23 perhaps. It's legit matches out to 2000 yards plus. Bryan Litz, Tubbs, and many others were involved and in attendance of first ELR...

Rifle Scopes Low to Mid-powered tactical scope options

I own several Bushnell optics and they are built like a brick shit house. Phenomenal optics. I have a DMR2, HDMR2'S, and XRS2'S. They all track perfectly, are well designed, and have great glass. For what you say as intended usage, I would look into the DMR2, or DMR2 Pro. The DMR2 Pro has...

APA little fat bastard vs Area 419 hellfire?

The APA is the simplest brake to install I have ever owned. I'm not sure what to make of the posts above about difficulty timing them. You line it up and tighten one nut.

APA little fat bastard vs Area 419 hellfire?

I've got a few of both but prefer the APA because it actually stays put. The 419 brakes kept coming loose initially until I got them tightened down with leather and a wrench. The nice thing about the APA brakes you just tighten the big nut and they lockdown securely yet can be easily removed the...

6mm BR Lapua Brass or 6 Dasher w/ trimmed Norma brass (don't want to fireform)

Hunt's long range is the route many PRS shooters take, myself included. His Lapua hydroformed brass for Dasher is great. Been shooting it for 4-5 months, fantastic brass. I don't know of anyone shooting Norma Dasher. Go straight BR or Dasher is my suggestion, Lapua in either case. Most guys...

RRS SC-LR vs BTC-PRO for Atlas

I got this for a new rifle, very impressive. I have tried several others, but none as functional as this RRS. Got a direct attach option for Harris from Sawtooth Rifles so I can use another RRS clamp like this one on the other bipod. The only RRS option for Harris on this clamp required using...

Rifle Scopes What is the opinion of the Bushnell HDMR and DRM scopes?

Having used several, all in the elite line, DMR2, HDMR2's, and a few XRS 2s, I am absolutely a fan of Bushnell. I got into PRS a few years ago and like many of the newer guys here had the same questions. Which caliber which scope which dies which ballistic app etc, it's a right of passage we all...

    Rifle Scopes DmrII pro thoughts

I sold a gen ii razor to get my Bushnell xrs 2, it's a great optic. I then got DMR II, later HDMR2's, I love the whole line. Various uses. DMR II has better eye box to me. Xrs 2 has little brighter glass and color. DMR pro must be the hybrid brain child, prime glass, yet easy eye box. It also...

    6mm Creed Build

I suggest 108 eld's over 110 smk, the smk has a reputation for being finnicky and sending out fliers. Twist rate likely an issue, but I know 1:7.5 or 1:8 will work for 108 eld's, shot a few thousand this past year in PRS. For PRS I would be sure the balance of the rifle is good, front to back...

    Forster Ultra Micrometer Seating Die

But again consider why bother using a mandrel to open up the neck if you're not slightly over sizing it in the first place. One of many things you need to consider. If not using the mandrel the bushing should be designed to allow enough sizing of the neck without oversizing it, because the...
