    There is a retaining pin that holds the spring and the extractor in. See if the pin is there or broken, it is on the side of the bolt.

    The extractor is a pretty easy thing to change on the RPR. You need a small punch, the little tool to hold back the extractor and it comes out and is replaced rather easily..... Don't let something this petty get you down, there is a lot of fun in long distance shooting.

    older remington PSS 308 worth rebuilding? chassis recommendation

    I put my Reimington 700P into a McRee Precision chassis. No bedding necessary obviously. It eliminates the need for bottom metal etc. It shoots very, very well. I added a SilercerCo Asr brake and the gun has very low recoil and is delightful to shoot.
