Checz vz 24 receiver re barrel

Brownells has short chambered barrels for $100, run of the mill stock for $130, timney for $100. It doesnt get too expensive until you want to mount a scope. Then theres drilling and tapping for bases and modifying the bolt handle and safety. Last one I did was a cz in 22 250. Gunsmith who had...

Checz vz 24 receiver re barrel

It all can still be done. Parts are more expensive than the 700s but not crazy. If you want to mount a scope theres quite a bit of gunsmithing going on. $100 for a cz action I think is a really good price. Last cz I bought was $200 and I thought that was a decent deal.

Consider chronograph as essential reloading equipment?

I started with the $60 caldwell and ended up with the magneto speed v3. The caldwell worked good enough for load development.

    Add weight to KRG Bravo?

Not sure if it's hollow, but KRG does have on their website now heavy bag rider and heavy LOP spacers. There was another thread that talked about adding weight different ways to the bravo.

Rifle Scopes Vortex PST GEN 2 how are they doing?

Had the 3-15x44 and thought it was okay. Have the 5-25 and really liked it. It went back and forth from a 224 valk gas gun and 6.5 CM bolt gun. Huge step up from the PST 1's. Also have the razor gen 2 which is a step up from the pst 2 but honestly not as much as I expected for the price.

    Hunting & Fishing Do-all boots

I've had a good experience with the Danner Pronghorns. I've got a couple years of hunting cat tails and hiking through shit and no complaints yet. I have no doubt some of the boots above could last longer or are better, but for weekend warrior work and the price they're good for me. Concrete...

PRS Talk New Classification for the Series

Is dry-fire practice too expensive? I'm in the it's more the Indian than the bow+arrow camp. I've seen factory 870's out shoot berettas in the duck blind and guys with factory tikkas outshoot AI's with S&B's. Obviously better gear offers some advantage, but quantitatively the skill of the...

    Post your funniest range story...

If I don't have a muzzle device I use the Bushnell bore-site with the collet and works really well. I was really close to begin with at 25 and 50. Issue was with the angle to the 100 yard target I was shooting through a 2"x6" chunk of wood sending the bullets everywhere. The 25 and 50 yard...

    Post your funniest range story...

One fall day I impromptu decided I would take a weekend off of pheasant hunting to tag a deer on my parents farm. I hadn't big-game hunted in awhile and binge-watched every episode of Meat Eater to the point there were 500 different recipes I needed to try. I was spoiled on growing up with...

    Howa 1500 first build

I've been running this one for a few years now. ~1600 rounds down the tube. KRG 180 X-ray (or something) chassis and the timney trigger. Factory 140 ELD-M shoot ~5/8 MOA. Handload 147 ELD-M's with H4350 consistently do under 1/2 MOA. It's seen quite a bit of dust and cold without any issues...

    Newbie bag

Find a rear-bag you like and I'd go with just that. I use the wiebad tac pad. Seems like rear bag selection is very personal though. Game changer (or one like it). And something like the wiebad pump pillow. All three would set you back ~$280. But you probably won't have have a hard time...

Suppressors Anti seize for muzzle devices

Permatex Aluminum anti-seize has worked for me. Hardest thing is getting it off of fingers and clothes after torquing. Half a pea sized drop does a muzzle device.

Rifle Scopes Anyone hunt coyotes with FFP?

Illumination for me is the key for low light. I use a 5-25 PST II or a 4.5 X 27 Razor gen II FFP without any problem.

Rifle Scopes I hesitate to ask but here goes

Nikon Monarch, Vortex Crossfire and Leupold VX-R are all ones on the lower end of the spectrum I've had on centerfires. Didn't have an issue with any of them. I thought the Nikons were surprisingly clear and bright for their cost. Probably not beating the XTR for that price either.

    New gas gun build

I like both. Grendel sacrifices trajectory for energy. Depends on what you need. I have a 22" 224 valkyrie with a craddock precision barrel. Couldnt be more happy with it.
