    Rifle Scopes Simmons Presidential Series

I know this isn't the typical type of scope discussed here, but I thought maybe someone would know something about them. Does anyone know anything about these scopes? I bought one in 4-12x44 and while I know a little about them, I don't know much. I know they are supposed to be one of Simmons...

Rifle Scopes Vortex Crossfire 6-24 x 50 AO ..... Issues???

Re: Vortex Crossfire 6-24 x 50 AO ..... Issues??? I'd try to return it. There seem to be way too many problems with the Crossfires. IMO it's a mistake for them to even have those in their lineup, because it's going to give them a bad name. People that buy their cheapest model are going to...

    Rifle Scopes Budget scope choice

Re: Budget scope choice I'd stay away from the Crossfire. I've just read too many reports of issues, although Vortex will take care of you. Personally having had a Prostaff, and even a couple Monarchs, the Burris FFII has better glass, and it's what I'd go with in this price range.

Rifle Scopes Best scope covers to use in hunting situations?

I'm looking for some quality scope covers to use on my SWFA SS 3-9x42 that's on my hunting rig. I currently have Butler Creek flip up caps on it that just aren't working for me. I love the look, feel, and style of them. The problem is they don't last for me. I broke the eye piece one right...

Hunting & Fishing Any tips for coyote hunting?

Let me start off by saying I've never been coyote hunting, and I've only seen one coyote in my life and that was while deer hunting. However, we have a hole dug out that we put dear carcasses in, and we've noticed that right away it they start getting torn up by coyotes. They never are there...

Rifle Scopes Help me choose one of these lower-priced scopes?

Re: Help me choose one of these lower-priced scopes? The one I'd go with http://www.midwayusa.com/product/746570/...x-reticle-matte Another decent option is the Vortex Crossfire that SWFA has for $99. However, I've heard of quite a few failure reports. A lot more than I have about the...

My experience with Savage customer service

I have many reasons I love my Savage rifle, the main one being that it's the most accurate rifle I own or have ever owned. It shoots .8" groups regularly at 100 yards with Federal Power Shok ammo, and similar groups with Winchester Power Points. With handloads it consistently shoots .5" or under...

Hunting & Fishing What would you do?

Re: What would you do? Let me start off by saying I see you are in VA and talk about property in NC, so this makes me wonder if some of the property we have, and mostly where I hunt isn't pretty close to you. It's on the VA/NC border literally about 1.5 miles from the NC line. I know there...

What are the best barrel cleaning products?

Re: What are the best barrel cleaning products? I use the liquid Wipe Out Patch Out stuff. I've never used their accelerator, but have had good luck without it. I've not used anywhere near all of the cleaning solvents out there, but out of what I have used I like this stuff the best. I have...

What is the best Cleaning Rod out there?

Re: What is the best Cleaning Rod out there? Tipton for me. I don't know if it's the best as I've certainly not used every brand out there, but it's by far the best I've used. I previously had a Dewey and I felt like it was a total waste of money. I bought it from a local shop after they...

    243win powder

Re: 243win powder I shoot 40.3 grains of IMR 4831 with a Hornady 95 grain SST bullet. Shoots sub moa groups in my Savage. I love this load, but I haven't tried any other powders, just different charges of this one. It worked so well I just stuck with it.

    Cold weather gloves

Re: Cold weather gloves My problem isn't finding gloves that are warm, but gloves that are warm and that I can still shoot with without taking off.
