    Rifle Scopes Kudos to Vortex

    I had a similar experience with a PST Gen 2 1-6x a few weeks ago. Illumination dial was wonky and I expected to receive the repaired scope. Instead I got a brand new scope that, to my eyes, has better glass with less distortion than the one I sent in. I was very impressed.

    Any thoughts now that these are the same price? The Pinnacle appears to be closely following the LOW reference design and the ETR looks GTG as well. I'm inclined to the Japanese Pinnacle but the ETR reviews have me questioning that.

    I'm torn over this or the PST Gen 2 5-25x for $699 ($760 with tax/shipping). I need something for a prairie dog .223 bolt action. Wondering if the PST Gen 2 is worth $200-$250 more than the Ares BTR.

    I should clarify that they didn't change the reticle. I sent in the scope with the Accu-Range reticle and they changed the parallax for $25. It was overall still less expensive that a comparable Leupold Rimfire scope at the time.

    I'm not seeing the PA ACSS-22LR scopes listed. I see the reticle, but not the 6x or 1-6x scopes. Also note that Leupold will change the parallax on both Leupold and Redfield branded scopes. Two years ago I had Leupold change the parallax on a 2-7x Redfield Revolution with the Accu-Range reticle...

    The Sig Sauer Whiskey 5 3-15x44 with MOA Milling Hunter reticle is a possibility. Looks like the only negative is the fact that the entire reticle is lit...and maybe the weight.
