Ok I have a poll question M1A or AR10 SASS

Don't figure out which one is better...GET ONE OF EACH!!! Both are incredible rifles and will serve you well, albeit for arguably different ends. ;)

Question regarding Rock Creek Barrels and orders...

Here's Mike's Hide user page: http://www.snipershide.com/shooting/members/mike-rock.html To the best of my knowledge, if they accepted an order from you, they'll fill it...PERIOD. They quit doing individual orders for a variety of reasons, but primarily because of ridiculously high order...

Rifle Scopes SWFA Tax day sale - good through 4/15 (midnight)

+1!! I got the e-mail early this a.m. and was hoping to snag one of the 3-15x, but it is conspicuously missing from all the other SS scopes that are discounted in this sale. Sigh... :(

Gunsmithing Removing the External JP nut from an AR-15 Vtac rail

Propane torch (or a HD heat gun) and a strap wrench should do the trick. The @#$%ing loc-tite that JP uses is WAY OVERKILL for a damned handguard system, but with sufficient heat (~500 degrees F), it'll bake off (it'll smoke so don't worry if that happens) to a white powdery residue and the nut...

    Armalite AR-10 Side Charging Upper?

Holy @#$%!!! I didn't realize that JP had started offering the PSC-12 uppers in an Armalite pattern/slant-back. That's AWESOME! That gives you BOTH side and top CH in one package for the Armalite pattern. Sadly, and somewhat oddly, they are building them: a) only as full kits with their LMOS...

    I'm done with MidwayUSA

That is, quite possibly, the hallmark of Larry's business model. Jack UP prices on S&H, combine them with less-than-stellar pricing on many items (at least compared to other outlets/vendors), and then throw the customers a "discount code" or two here and there with broad exclusionary language...

Best Precision AR10 (In your opinion(s))?

Yup...this horse has been beaten many times long after the poor thing was dead!! ;) Joking aside, and speaking from experience with all of the above, you'll not go wrong with any of them. It truly comes down to what you want, specifically, as to which will be the best of three. All have their...

How much lube on Jp lrp07

Just follow John Paul's recommended lubrication/cleaning/maintenance as set forth in the manual and you'll be fine. They have pretty detailed instructions/guidance in the manual, including some details on environment-specific procedures for same. See here if you don't have a copy...

Got the AK itch, looking for some advice.

I'd call that well-bought!! Look forward to seeing your conversion once you get your paperwork back in hand.

    H&K clone build...

HOLY NECRO-POSTS, BATMAN!!! This thread was dead and gone for ~3.5 years before today's posts...the OP hasn't posted since 1/2011!! ;) Best of luck with your SG-1 project, jnfphd. You should head over to the HKPro forums for addt'l details, info, etc. Lots of quality information over there...

    Armalite AR-10 Side Charging Upper?

Zero options in terms of factory/aftermarket for an Armalite/AR-10 pattern side-charger at this point in time. You may be able to find a decent gunsmith that's doing them for any DPMS-pattern upper and have them mill one out for you, HOWEVER... Even if you find a smith that will do the work...

    7.62 BCG potential issue

That's a pretty @#$$% return/refund policy. I would expect better from Bryan/the folks at AIM, but alas...it is what it is. You'll either eat the ~$30 in return charges and S&H or you'll lose it on the retail side trying to sell a .308 BCG with known QC issues. Either way...you are on the...

    7.62 BCG potential issue

I was typing my last response as the OP was uploading the addt'l pics, but I have to agree. Not great by any means. I'm betting you could spin those right out without too much effort if you tried. Also, is that threadlocker of some sort or just crud around the rearward screw?

    7.62 BCG potential issue

If it sounds that bad and/or is causing any marring/wear/tear on your upper receiver just from a couple hand charges/cocking of the rifle, I'd send it back if that's an option. (Even if it isn't causing wear/tear...if you aren't happy with it for the money you paid, get your money back and...

Bipod for AICS stock options..and advice ?

Accu-Shot BT19 spigot mount (~$70), Accu-Shot BT20B Bottom Rail (~$25) and a Harris with a rail-mount. That's the least expensive route I can think of at ~$95 for just the spigot/rail. If you don't already have a rail-mount Harris, you can also get an AR-15/10 rail to swivel-stud adapter for...

    7.62 BCG potential issue

Your pics aren't good, but I don't see any immediately concerning issues with that BCG or with any deep/excessive tool marks. Some of the plated/coated BCGs I have seen have what appear to me to be considerably WORSE tools marks than what I am able to make out in your pics above to the point...

Bipod for AICS stock options..and advice ?

If you don't have the budget for an Atlas, then the basic Harris BRM-S (6-9", swivel, leg-notch) with the addition of a pod-loc at ~$115 total will work just fine until funds allow otherwise (or for the long-haul for that matter unless you just WANT to upgrade down the road). As for the above...

Can we please stop calling them "sticks"?

How in the HOLY HELL do people actually manage to engage in these silly-ass debates re: semantics, slang words, grammar, punctuation, etc. I mean REALLY?!?! Now you are actually engaged in a debate over what is/isn't "tactical!" Its not a wonder the world (particularly this great nation) is...

    Geissele trigger question

NOT a Geissele, but based on the appearance/markings, its likely an ALG Defense QMS trigger (a sister company of Geissele). They are basically "improved" versions of the standard, single-stage mil-spec AR/M16 trigger group that feature the same degree of reliability/function of the mil-spec...
