Gunsmithing Picatinny Scout Mount for K31

Re: Picatinny Scout Mount for K31 Thanks Treebasher for the link to S&K. I have bought three mounts from them and they are very solid but I'm looking for a Picatinny base and their's are not; they are weaver. As I explained in my post, a lot of shooters think they are the same but Picatinny...

Gunsmithing Picatinny Scout Mount for K31

I need a Picatinny scope mount to replace the rear sight on a K31. I have done an exhaustive search and can only come up with weaver style mounts, not true 1913 MIL SPEC Picatinny, and there IS a huge difference in slot spacing. Can anyone out there help? Thanks.

    Gunsmithing M1A Stove Piping Cases

Re: M1A Stove Piping Cases That's good advice and I'll pass it on to him. No doubt a sure way to remedy the problem but presents a practical issue for my friend. SAI may see this (not NIB when purchased and at least five years old) M1A as something they won't fix under warranty. After...

    Gunsmithing M1A Stove Piping Cases

Re: M1A Stove Piping Cases My friend is using Federal Gold Medal Match ammo so I don't suspect the ammo. I will try my mags in his rifle. What burns me is that the local gun shop tried to sell me this rifle, advertising it as a New gun with a Krieger barrel. I didn't even take a close...

    Gunsmithing M1A Stove Piping Cases

Re: M1A Stove Piping Cases Thank you for taking the time to help. I will get with my friend and use your advice. Sounds like the best start on this is getting him back to the range to see if the bolt locks back after single round firing.

    Gunsmithing M1A Stove Piping Cases

I would really appreciate help from the M14 and M1A experts on the forum. My neighbor bought an M1A from a local gun store several years ago that specializes in "precision" long range rifles and he has had a continued problem with it stove piping cases. He has taken it back to the store and...

Rifle Scopes Buy Decision: EOTech 557.AR223 or 552.XR308

I would like some help from users of EOTech's. I have a lot of high end scopes, with everything from 1-5X to 8.5-25X; Leupold, NF and Burris. I have only one HWS, an older model Aimpoint red dot, and want another HWS type. I need an HWS scope WITH ballistic hold points and no magnification and...

    1022 Feed Problem

Re: 1022 Feed Problem Thanks for the link and all the helpful suggestions from all responders. I watched the video and several others, including those made by Ruger. I took the rifle completely apart, cleaned everything and reassembled (with some difficulty getting the bolt handle and...

    17 HMR scope?

Re: 17 HMR scope? I personally think for a 17 HMR it is better to go with a 0 MOA base and a scope zeroed for 100 yards, with ballistic markings. I make several P-dog trips a year and got a 17HMR last June. I find it effective with NO WIND out to a bit over 200 yards and have heard claims...

    1022 Feed Problem

I hope one of you 1022 experts can help me. I have two 1022 target rifles and one of them just started having a problem feeding rounds from the magazine. Every time I put a loaded mag into the rifle with a closed bolt, and cycle the bolt, the round picks up from the mag and gets stuck half-way...

Rifle Scopes One scope on multiple rifles? Anyone do this?

Re: One scope on multiple rifles? Anyone do this? This is what I do and I shoot a bunch. I find the return to zero is one MOA. I use Warne or Leupold Quick Release rings (QRW) that are "weaver style." I started off with the other type - QR - that require exact spacing of the bases...
