Accuracy problems after B&C Medalist inatall: suggestions?

I had to dremel out a bit of the cutout for the bolt handle to get it to close all the way. It wasn't making any contact, but looking at it now after shooting it, there is a slight rub mark. I will clear some more room and see what happens, thanks for the tip.

Accuracy problems after B&C Medalist inatall: suggestions?

I have a Rem. 700 5R and just replaced the HS precision stock with a Bell and Carlson Medalist varmint tactical. My barrel is bigger around than the "standard heavy barrel" thatthe stock is designed for, so I had to sand it out to fully float it. Did some minor inletting to allow factory bottom...

    Steel vs. Aluminum rings .308?

Re: Steel vs. Aluminum rings .308? Awesome, thanks for all the input! Its so hard when one person tells you one thing and another totally shuts it down. I just purchased a pair of seekins rings and a BO rail. Again, I appreciate the positive feedback!

    Steel vs. Aluminum rings .308?

I just bought a 700 ss 5r in .308. My local gun shop is telling me I dont need steel rings for this caliber. Is this correct?? Oh, and if you feel like this is a "dumb" question.. I dont need to be ridiculed. Thanks!

Weaver: rings & base reviews please

I just purchased a Rem. 700 ss 5r milspec in .308 along with a Vortex viper pst 6 24 50. I am just about broke and Weaver has great prices for rings and bases. Any suggestions on other good/ inexpensive hardware, or reviews on Weaver rings and bases would be appreciated. Thanks!
