    you might want to take a look at the 5.68dmr. It shoots 90gr .224 bullets at 2900fps with a 24" barrel. That would be a good option for the 1200 yard range. It would still be supersonic at that range.

    Dd mk18 suppressed or sell it and get a piston setup?

    Why dont you just spend $60-$120 and buy an adjustable gas block. There are low profile ones that fit under most rails. Plus if you decide that you still dont want it then just sell it. That way you are only out $120 at the most instead of the cost of a new upper.

    .223 cheap build?

    I do not have any experience with it but have had read many good things. Savage makes a model 12 233. It has a 26" 1/7 twist stainless fluted barrel. There is one on gunbroker for $900 right now. That leaves you plenty for a better stock and good scope. Just figured I'd through that out there

    It is a 1x9 twist and is threaded 1/2x28. Mine is about 1 moa with my 55gr handloads. I have shot 75gr out of it and they grouped about the same as my handloads. That is with the factory stock also.
