10 Dead in NOLA attack

Jup Amish again
Shamsud Din Jabbar, was raised in Texas and was in the U.S. Army Reserve from 2015 to 2020.
According to Daily Mail, he had a ISIS flag with him and FBI is probing on possible possession of Terrorist material.

But ISIS is no longer enemy of Merica cos of Jewlani in Syria

Jabbar also worked for US tech companies, specially on Cloud Governance, after leaving the US Army Reserve as a Cloud Data engineer and Data Architect

Perp introducing himself

Hmmm...if he worked for Deloitte as a cloud engineer, he probably had a clearance as well.

I install these and other anti-vehicular barricades all over the country. Most are K8 or K12 rated which is capable of stopping 15,000 lb vehicle traveling at 40 or 50mph respectively.
So, what is the crap rated at like an Army Post, USAF Base, or Naval Yard? And, I think they generally also have those tire puncher things IIRC.

Thanks for the info!!! Good stuff.

i read both in the truck and a couple were elsewhere and destroyed by the bomb squad.

also heard he drove onto the sidewalk around some barriers to get to where he ran over those folks.
Probably similar to these. I also am heavily involved with these portable barriers. Many sports complexes, venues, government agencies, etc are using these to temporarily cordon off high threat areas. But they are only effective if the flanks are adequately barricaded with passive barricades.

No surprise the 10yr old bollards were inoperable and being replaced and their portable wedge barrier malfunctioned. These systems require a ton of maintenance and upkeep. Lots of road debris and trash and junk get embedded and render them inoperable. It’s so surprising how many entities refuse regular maintenance

A Flux Raider type PCC for vehicle carry does not sound too bad for a regular civvie EDC loadout. As a compliment to your on-person EDC pistol.

Truck/van rammings are one of the preferred MOs of Islamist savages. If someone is ready and quick to get their dander up and put either 7-10 regular sized holes within a pie plate circle through the drivers side windshield, or 2-3 REALLY, REALLY BIG hogleg holes through the same, threat is pretty much settled. Next step, pull the motherfucker no matter dead or alive out of the vehicle and stick him/her real good and brutal through the neck, chest, stomach with a big blade while pinning them against the side of the vehicle, then scalp the motherfucker. The reason: Everything is being filmed by someone these days. A show of excess brutality for the world sends a nice message across that we can be batshit crazy and give no fucks at all if pushed to a certain limit. The next fuckface who is thinking of a similar 15 seconds of fame might even hesitate as they weigh their chances of starring in another ad hoc Cormac McCarthy novel...

I don't know much about the Flux Raider PPC but I do know that the flux capacitor is what makes time travel possible.

All de powaaah!

All de controool!

The tree of the police state must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of strange - looking, strange - sounding, non - English speaking foreign adversaries.”

Haven’t watched CNN in like, forever - Brianna Keilar has totally let herself go!

Not really , ISIS= AQ after Graduating from Camp Bucca

In practice AQ after they graduated Camp Bucca became ISIS , and once on the ground depending on which way wind blew changed to AQ or back to ISIS at will

Camp Bucca , was a practically Jihadi variant of ''School of Americas in Fort Benning'' , who is who of Jihadi head choppers only made it big after graduating in Camp Bucca including new darling of the west Jewlani

Today Camp Bucca might be no more but i am sure new outpost in Syria run Jihadi Schools.

" It’s so surprising how many entities refuse regular maintenance"

Is it really though? These folks don't care about peeps, many are doing this for show-n-tell or liability purposes to show "we got one." Then when it fails they'll come after the installer and claim "we didn't know about maintenance, etc, etc." Unless installer has lock-tight contract stating maintenance MUST occur every X days, then the installer COULD have liability.

Sucks, bu that's the way the game seems to be played.

If this is true, the owner has a car sharing business, then the original reports of the vehicle traveling across the border multiple times could still be true. And if that’s true, you kind of have to ask yourself, what was the vehicle doing going across the Mexican border previously, I’m sure they just wanted to go down there to see the donkey show.

The dead POS probably went down there to pick up his co-conspirators, those who were 'caught on video' placing IEDs.

the truck may have suspicious history with that license plate crossing the border several times.
since anyone can rent the truck, i don't think they know yet if this was the same guy using it previously.
the owners are cooperating, but how reliable or accurate are the details you get from the broker?

I was definitely thinking the vehicle might have been utilized to traffic people and stuff across the border multiple times, not sure if it’s the co-conspirators or others

Yeah, what's weird is they say it was "in" the vehicle.

It was in the vehicle ....... right after the FBI took it off the back of the truck and put it there....
edit - As fast as the FBI could declare this a NON-terrorist act, and then had to walk it back due to camera's proving otherwise.......
Makes you wonder if ANOTHER conspiracy theory is about to come true.

Truck was rented through a carsharing app Turo.

Wonder if some hairy caveman goes to the rental office demanding a deposit back like the fuckers that rented the van used in the first World Trade Center bombing?

curious if the couple has personal liability protection to cover all the victims. are they screwed? does the app provide for insurance as a fee?

To be 100% clear, I'm not saying I know anything or have any facts about it at all. Not saying it's not a "flag".

Could be a homemade flag out of a Nike jacket for all I know.

The "quilted" appearance just looks sketchy to me. I want to see one unfurled.

But for all I know it says "GO SAINTS"

Yeah, I’m not so sure it was the same guy renting it to go across the border multiple times, but how odd, someone with the name Diaz, renting a vehicle that’s repeatedly going across the border…. Hmmmm

Wonder if any of the gunshot victims were by NOPD?

Narrow streets packed with people, richochets, people that are mediocre shots at best on safe, cardboard targets.
I am an idiot, I will just get that out of the way and you can save your breath on that. So, on the chance that police might have accidentally shot bystanders while shooting at the suspect who was currently shooting at them and others, the police should not shoot back?

I know you did not specifically say that. But that is where you went with my statement. Yes, it is possible and a forensic investigation while take a while, for sure.

So, since you have already surmised or at least posited the theory that some of the people shot may have been collateral damage or caught in friendly cross-fire, how many more people would have died if the suspect kept on firing?

What was your preferred method of dealing with an active shooter?

I don't know and that is why I lead off with the statement that I am an idiot.

So, please help clear my ignorance and I can better understand the intention of your reply.

The F150 ain’t Porsche hybrid fast. I’ve driven a Lightning. It’s faster than my PowerBoost, but I don’t believe it’s got way more torque.
It’s not necessarily that an EV has higher peak torque, it’s that it has instant torque even at low speed. Gas engines have to get into a higher RPM range to lay down all their torque, so at low speed and RPM you are not close to max torque. With an EV there isn’t a powerband like a gas engine. Its torque is the equivalent of flipping a light switch, instant torque at low speed or a stop.
