140 Amax Jump,Touch or Jam

It's always prudent to start off the lands in the beginning with moderate powder weights for the cartridge/powder combo that you'll be using in the beginning and then work UP and IN.

For a box of 50 cartridges, load 10 rounds at .005" off, load 15 rounds at .010" off, load 15 rounds at .015" off and then load the final 10 rounds .020" off and see what you see.

You can break that combo up into whatever batches you prefer, but you get the picture?

The salient point here is that you should tell us what YOUR rifle system prefers, not the other way around.

The reason I am asking is because I am having problem's finding out what this rifle like's.It is a 12LRP in 6.5 creed.I just got it back from savage to have the throat fixed. My OAL with a 140 Amax was 2.740 and now it is 2.830,which is good so that is why I am asking what is working for other people to see if I am missing something.

There is no 'correct' answer, there's only 'what works best' for your barrel, weapon and load combo.

This is why I suggested that you play with a few seating depths and then go from there. Finding the sweet spot is part of the fun and you'll gain practice through experimentation.

You've essentially got a different barrel once you got it back from Savage, so load up a spread of a few groups (5 shots ea.) of each depth and go from there.

.015" might be that sweet spot, .020" might be another and still yet, .005", or touching your lands, might be the 'honey pot.'
