Great rifle by the way I’ve got a shorty in an AX also. Best chassis made IMO. Only thing that would make it better is a flush cup in the very rear.
Just got the 20MOA continuous top rail in. Gotta get it cerakoted to match and it’s done.
I’m at 2666fps in a 17” with 140ELD and 41.5 H4350 at 60 degrees

I have a spare 24" Tikka CTR take off barrel in 6.5C Im thinking of chopping down to 16.1" to shoot supressed full time. Question for those handloading for their short Creeds- have you played with faster powders and did it help? I have a bunch of loads for that barrel from when it was on but the Tikka barrels- mine included- were already 150fps slow compared to others. Debating if its worth a different barrel to not lose so much velocity or if I can make some up over my 4350 loads. I have lots of IMR 4895 around I could match up with 120 to 130gr pills. Rather just use what I got-
My 17” 6.5CM is running 129sst at 2770 with 43gr of H4350. Some people get up to 44gr with the 129sst. Haven’t pushed my load faster as it’s crazy accurate where it is. OAL on my load is 2.8 instead of the 2.67 suggested OAL for the cannelure.

Pinned and welded or full 16” barrel? Looks like a handy little gun, but maybe a little overkill on magnification for the caliber. ? Not knocking it, again, looks like a lot of fun.

Bout 2573 with 220 matchkings. Blast is nasty indoors but it opens up benches pretty fast.

Love this setup. Excuse my sock “rear bag”. Left my rear bag in my buddy’s truck so I improvised.
75 gr. ELD-M's at 2750 fps took care of this unsuspecting porcupine at 590 yds. This thing is silly quiet with a 338 Ultra.
Holy shit a 16" Ultra Mag???????? I think I will pass on the days you hit the range.

@HolyCity73 speed tests in 16 inch 350 legend post from a few days ago. Sorry it took so long had to get a new chronograph, I shot my other one in the face with a 22 Nosler. Little gun shoots quick for what it is. Was shooting at an old propane tank. The big hole in the middle is the group and the back side is Swiss cheese. I tried to find some bullet fragments or parts but most were to small to pick up.

Man, I bet that's a fun gun to have around in the pickup or mule whenever out in the field/farm. By the looks of it, I'm guessing that's your intended use for it?

Yeah was kind of the idea when I started the build. Just an around the world beater that had some muscle if needed. It shoots good, the 180s let you know they are there compared to the 150s.

I’m not surprised by those speeds or results. I’d say that’s gonna be a really fun rifle to scoot around with. Easy on the shoulder, cheap to shoot and apparently pretty capable in the killing department.
I may need to pick one up because why not.

Full 16" barrel. The Vortex is a 5x25 and just a bit of overkill but I like it. I normally keep it at 10 and might start looking at a replacement soon.

I had to change out the stock as it was too short for me; ended up going to High Plaines Gunstocks and getting a much better stock. The barrel fits perfect so no changes needed. This normally wears a TBAC Ultra 5CB. Great shooting rifle. I also had some trigger work done by Haus of Arms.

Finally got the top rails cerakoted. Ditched the Big ATACR for a smaller Steiner. Will probably end up with a 4-16x50 ATACR eventually. Steiner is really good though. Exceeded my expectations.

Hornady Match 140 ELD. Getting incredible groups running factory ammo, this will not be my last Proof barrel.
I second this. Factory 140s out of my proof are 1/2 moa day. if they were a little cheaper I'd quit reloading completely and just shoot those.
