260 rem. High and low vel. nodes

I've been tinkering with my 260 some here lately. Finally getting alittle time and weather getting nice. I ran my first ladder the other day form 39.4 - 42.2grs of H4350 at 500 yds. You could defentily see that 4.2-40.8 was the best. I tuned that down and came up the 40.8 being about the best out of the bunch shooting less than 1/2MOA out to 500yds. The problem is it's only running about 2620fps. I'm would really like to get it up to 2750- 2800fps. Should I have continue on up passed 42.2 and see if there was another accuracy node up there as I'm show no pressure at 42.2 or am I stuck shooting 2620fps. I'm just wondering yalls expereince with finding another node right at max. I'm gonna try it but I'm just wondering yall thoughts as it'll be a couple of days before I get a chance to run another ladder.

Shilen SM 1:9 26.5" shooting 140 Amaxs at 3.011 OAL

43.6 of H 4350 is what I run in my 24 and 26" Shilens with 140 A-Max .. 2840 and 2860 fps.. Shoot very well.

During my testing I have not had a rifle that does not have (2) accuracy nodes,one high and one low.it depends on the round which one I choose for barrel life. Pick the one for your needs and let the scope do the rest.

44.0 gr H4350 at 2850 fps 139 gr scenar works for me

42.5 of H4350 pushing a 140gr Amax works well for my long stick. on a 10 shot average chrono says 2789fps. No reason to doubt those numbers.

Find your max load by pressure signs is part of the first step. Then work from there in smaller increments in the second test.

I shoot 43.7 grns of H4350 and the 140 Amax. 2850 fps.

i ran up to 44 gr or h4350 with 140 amaxes. i stuck with 43gr as my load and on the 4th firing of my brass i started loosing primer pockets (nosler brass).

With 139 Scenars, I found 43.5 grains of H-4350 to be extremely accurate in my TRG-22 (26" barrel, 1:8 twist). No signs of high pressure.
