3 Week EMT course

Re: 3 Week EMT course

Unless one needs to have it done in three weeks, take it at a local JC. Its significantly cheaper and you get the same stuff. Well, except for the cool t-shirt.

Re: 3 Week EMT course

Quite a few junior colleges offer a 3 week EMT-B. If you have more time on your hands the local EMS or FD usually run classes for little to no money out of pocket. West Virginia for instance covers all course/testing fees if more than 15 people take the class. Just something you might want to look into before pulling the trigger... Although it doesn't have the tacticool-ness of going to "warrior school"

Re: 3 Week EMT course

I have only seen a few condensed EMT courses out there. One in Bloomington, one hosted by Teton Science School in WY, which is a anti-gun organization, and another on the east coast somewhere. For some reason, everyone seems to want to take a dump on them.
My work limits me to a condensed course. I'm sure there are other dudes that can only do a condensed course too.

Re: 3 Week EMT course

Back in the day (c. '95, MD), qualified EMT-B via a local volunteer Fire Department. Course length was 12 wks. Vast majority of classes were held on Sat (0800-1200), and a few weekday training sessions (ie. Wed evenings for clinicals). The course fee was zed/zero/no-bill/$0.

FWIW, recommend you access your local EMS community and see if there are similar opportunities. If your occupation is "weekends-free", this is the way to roll.

Not 3 weeks, but shorter than a normal semester class:
(BTW - I am not affiliated with this course, just wanted to share the info with those that might be interested)
