Deja Vu
Looking to build a 300blk SBR as a truck gun/toy. Looking for input and suggestions. Primarily going to be shooting unsuppressed for the foreseeable future. Looking at 8~ or 9~ inch barrels from noveske/rainier/aac and go back and fourth between CMT billet upper/lower and the rainier arms set or a noveske if they would ever be back in stock. any input is welcomed and appreciated.

It'll be my first foray into 300blk

Too bad, a Noveske 8.2" barrel was in stock a few days ago at rainier but I missed it. Been waiting a few months for that email.. I will keep tuned on this thread since I also will be building one soon.

ive run my 9" 300BLK AAC for a ton of rounds 8-9k rounds flawlessly. My SOT I shoot with quite often has a few thousand through Noveske's.

I dont think you can go wrong either way. If you like the way the Noveske hand guard is, go that way, if you like the way the AAC is built, go that way.

I'm looking to build it from the ground up, I was just considering noveske and aac's barrels. What advice I'm specifically looking for is something like known fitment issues, quirky things to keep an eye out for, tips and or tricks, that kind of thing. Things such as, the 300BO barrels are threaded the same as your standard ar10 barrel, right? Therefore you'd have to use breaks/flash hiders designed for 308s, right?

again, thanks all

Correct, standard 308 threads 5/8-24. Build it with a pistol length gas system, that seems to run everything the most reliably. Unsuppressed is fun, suppressed its ridiculous, keep a suppressor purchase in mind. Unless you reload, reasonable ammo might be hard to find for a while yet. 8-10" barrel seems ideal, you may know but must be pistol or sbr length with shorty upper.

If you do plan to suppress it and are thinking of putting your can into the handguard, be aware some guards are large enough to fit the can in, but once you attach rails on the piece that goes inside the rail may cause interference.
