I'll be at Thunder Valley Precision around 10am in the morning(Sunday)...if anyone is interested. Probably not..but I'll be the asshole with the Lil'B brake on a 300PRC with nobody sitting on the benches to either side.
Not working on anything in particular...except maybe practicing milling targets with the reticle, follow through with my trigger pull, spotting trace, and ofcourse some wind reading practice. My ADG brass got tied up in some kind of UPS fubar...won't be here until next week it seems....so not testing any new loads.
Just be shooting the same old boring 230gr A-Tips at around 2950fps.... 6.2mils at 1000 yards....well...depending on conditions...could get down to 6.1mils...or as high as 6.25mils....you never know...it could get tricky.
I'll need help spotting the mile target....My ZCO 5-27 MPCT3 won't be here for a month...so sporting a Vortex PST G2 3-15 for a little longer...I'll still hit it...but probably not the first shot.

Is this from Quickload? Data lines up pretty darn well with my results so far out of a 26" barrel with N565.

Here is a pic of my first 50 along with my brand new 300 PRC seating die:
- Almost all bullets seated within 35lbs to 45lbs. A couple went a little higher, but never more than 55. Very consistent.
- I measured 10 loaded case necks, then stopped because they were all the same at .3365 in multiple angles, with a couple at .337. Again, used a .335 bushing.
- Weather permitting, I'm going to shoot these tomorrow morning. I have two sets of a ladder going from 71.2 to 74.0 at .2 gr increments - RL 26. Then I loaded a bunch at 72.2. Why 72.2? My RWS load for this is 71.8, and I'm guessing that my RWS cases have slightly less volume. So I upped the load a little for my "play" rounds. We'll see how close I got.

Nice seating die....gotta get me one too....after about 498394839 other things on my list.
I have some Berger 155.5 that I want to burn up for barrel break in and fire forming. Have Retumbo to drive them. Hodgdon's load calculator doesn't have a 155.5/Retumbo spec (or anything below a 168 bullet). The 168/Retumbo spec is at 81.2 gr for starting load. I was thinking of going even a bit lower at 80 gr to break in/fire form. Thoughts on this combination?
I would not go below the 80gr. point, you will have the chance of not fire forming brass at that low loading. If you shoot suppressed, you will see why. I would start at least 1 gr. over the 168 data to start.
Of course, depending on that powder and case capacity with that bullet type. Just trying to make sure of no wasted time and effort.

Went out and ran a ladder with the new ADG/N565/ 230 A-Tips . Velocity was outright amazing , accuracy was the worst I thing I have ever seen out of any of my rifles EVER !! Not even sure the last time it was cleaned as it has been on the back burner for so long. I guess I should have ran a mandrel through the new brass as well , it was running about .003-.004 neck tension out of the box. I know the rifle will shoot as it would easily hold 1/2 with RL-26 and 230 A-tips with Hornady brass .....

I'd be interested to see you getting that velocity. I'm not pushing my 28" barrel hard with RL26 at 74.8 grains with the 230 gAy Tips. Velocity is at 2882 with that load. A nice tack driver it is. All out of my DT. Dane at DMR Rifles will spin you up a barrel. He has some 300 PRC's in stock.
Going that short and making up the velocity might go through brass pretty quick. And good luck finding RL26

I got that load from @Pools1 no testing, just loaded it and shot it.
I hope that guy above isn't going to be shooting against me in a few weeks at an ELR match....I'm still running 230's in Hornady Brass...guess maybe tomorrow I'll work up a 250gr load in ADG brass....probably not use Retumbo...I'll use N565 and get that puppy running a little hot.

Alex Pro Firearms makes thier AR in 300 PRC, 30 Nosler, and a few other calibers. Mine is being built as we speak
I was thinking the 225 and 230 weights initially.
Once I get the rifle I will do a full write up and review of the rifle. I know thier mags are proprietary and they can handle the longest 33 nosler saami spec rounds.

I will be out of the office today doing load development for my new ADG Brass. I'll be using both N565 and RL-26. Bullet will be the 230gr A-Tip. I had to make some guesses on some 5 shot loads. loaded up the following for both N565 and RL-26

I think people may tell you that RL-26 is better at Temp Stability....UNTIL...it hits about 85F outside...or your rounds are cooking in the sun. Then RL-26 can get stupid. I've found N565 much more stable than N560 and N570 recently. I believe Vhitavouri advertises the N565 as temp stable....probably compared to the other two.
Maybe I can get you some data...but it will take a while as the season goes from stupid cold to stupid hot.

Well...back from the range with some data. Today didn't go like I thought it would. First off...let's look at some speeds...and let's clarify the environmentals.
Temp: 49F
Elevation: 913ft ASL
Pressure: 30.13
Humidity: 68%
Winds: 7mph steady right to left....full value wind.
Brass: ADG Virgin brass. Was full length resized mostly due to the necks being a little small...a little too tight for the the bullets.

What's that in the bottom right? It is a 'control' group...heh...actually it is 5 rounds of mixed powder and bullets that I was fouling the barrel with. I had just done a good scrubbing of the barrel the night before. You don't see 5 holes? The first shot was off paper to the right due to not looking at my scope dials and having the windage turrets moved 2 mils. IT's good to have those mistakes when not on the clock...when it doesn't matter.
Now....let us look at Reloader 26. The super unicorn stuff that I haven't had the pleasure of running in a 300PRC with a 230 grain A-Tip.
Again....loads from 76 to 79 grains in .5 grain increments. On target: Center large diamond.

Ahh dangit, I was really hoping the N565 would come out on top! I got early pressure signs with my N565 load too. But it looks like RL26 is the winner. Although you might have something there at 77.0grs of N565, if that's what you want to use. Good report, thanks for sharing.
This is super impressive.... I’m having a barrel done but all these powders have been impossible for me to find.
Yep...hard to find powders..and suddenly everyone will have it in stock...when you have no monies...and then you get paid...and suddenly everyone is out of stock again....sucks being the average working man.
