300 winchester magnum

How have your experiences been with the bigger cartridges. I won't do 50bmg but the bergara b14 hmr in 300 win mag looks great for under 1000.
After I get rid of a few.

The 300wm is great mid sized round, more than enough power for anything on this continent with proper bullet selection and proper shot placement.
Just dont expect it to be in the same class as 338lapua and others in that range like the Cheytac rounds or similar.
Its an easy cartridge to load for and easilly capable of match grade accuracy in a quality rifle.
I wouldnt personally classify it in a category of destructive to equipment if that's what you were referring to.
It is however a great hunting round.

I think you all aren't ready to talk about the fact that sometime in the future being able to have an anti material man portable long gun will be a game changer, I'm talking about stopping a vehicle, not hunting white tail.

You all pussy foot around being able to stop a vehicle and end everything inside that vehicle as a private person. I'm not interested in shooting a deer at 600 yards I'm more concerned that I may need to stop a vehicle, or have the ability to stop a threat.

I've had to pull out an ar 15 at a gas station because there was multiple people. Some people need to be shot in the face, some people need to be shot multiple times, and maybe some vehicles amd people in it need to be stopped by bullets.

It is my general disposition to help; but I gotta fight that in this case.
First, 300WM is my favorite caliber, by a significant margin, so I obviously stumbled into this particular shit-show on that basis.
Next, if you are asking strangers on the internet how to shoot car-loads of people, you are an idiot and will probably die very quickly in this impending apocalypse you have foreseen.
Lastly, shit...I had something...it was quite insightful and informative, well, fuck it.

You can stop a tank with a 308 round. Iffin you know how and where to place said shot. Maybe you should dig a little deeper on how to EFFECTIVELY utilize the tools in your kit bag. Maybe you should learn about being aware of your surroundings and leaving as small a footprint as possible instead of backlighting your position for all to see your movements.

Can’t say I’ve ever pulled a bolt-action 300wm out at a gas station to stop a vehicle, window, or modern armor because I feared for my life. Racking the slide on a pistol diffused the situation pretty fast in the two instances that felt prudent to do so. Again, if you think having a 300wm bolt gun in your car so you can ‘destroy’ a moving vehicle, window, or modern armor sounds like solid judgment on your part, please feel free to post a follow-up ‘i told you so’ thread at a future time. Maybe one of those noreen semi-auto’s would fit that bill for you. The people that do that sort of thing for a paycheck would probably not consider 300wm to be anti-material grade stuff.

What kind of lead are you going to use to hit the engine block? How far are you going to lead it? With your 300 wsm, what is your math on that? Why are you shooting at the truck to begin with?
