Looks great, I just got the 22 inch odin 6.5cm upper. Does it have the +2 gas tube?New to the forum and LR. Here's my first (cheap) gas build.

I like how light and simple the rail is on the Odin.
How does the utg bipod hold up?

I put this AR10 in 6.5 creedmoor together several weeks ago. The build is as follows:
Aero Precision M5E1 builder set. I had the set cerakoted OD green...turned out great, IMHO.

Has anyone tried the Sharps rifle company BCG. It looks interesting in what they have done. I had found that years back they had quality issues but got it fixed.

shot it this past weekend, after dialing in the gas block for last-round bolt-hold-open, no feeding issues, perfect functioning with factory ammo: Federal 140gr soft-point and AE 120gr OTM. Very pleased with the accuracy, but was only plinking at 600yd and 800yd steel silhouettes, the fun stuff. Follow-up shots can be done quickly, before the preceding round hits at those distances, but then you don't get to hear the gratifying "ting" on the steel.
Armalite gas tube extending into upper receiver. please ignore the liberal slathering of grease, just a mock-up assembly to check fit. Gas tube does not bottom out in carrier gas key.

if the muzzle of your barrel is threaded 5/8-24, then you can use any of the common or popular AR-10 muzzle devices. for anything over 16" barrel length, I like the Precision Armament M4-72, although TTAG says there's now a new King Of The Brakes. The M4-72 is certainly an effective brake, no denying that.
JMHO, YMMV.

I too have an LMT-MWS but it came in factory burned bronze which I'm reluctant to blast off. What was your hardener mix on it? Looks satin finish which I like. If I may ask, is that the 18SS barrel which you cut down or is it a 16? Did Marvin Pitts do the work on that barrel? Mine came with the 16CL barrel and I have a 18SS which I might send for work.

@padom @bigjake83 have either yall tried out any a the new "Gen II" type lightweight/small frame .308 AR uppers/lowers? Eg the DPMS, POF, Remington, etc..? Or any plans to?
I personally have not but the idea of condensing the large frame platform has interested me since I've seen it with POF.
i think the proprietary nature is the biggest deterrent. whatever config you buy, you're kinda locked into it. although the "lack of standardization" of the AR-308 platform causes a lot of issues, it's nowhere near as restrictive as what you would get with a one-brand proprietary platform.
I do see that Rainier does offer barrels for the DPMS Gen II, so maybe 5-10 years from now...

Somewhat off topic, does anyone know what country this sniper is from/serves, the dude in the still-frame of the video and also shown in the very beginning of the vid, resting his HK417 on a blue barrel, apparently in the standing position touching a round off..?? Just curious, I dont see any patches whatsoever.. I've heard Delta has 417's in their inventory to go along with their 416's..? Maybe hes a D-boy??? What yall think? @MSTN ??

Very cool @shax2lex - have you considered getting hold of some clip on NV sights, or NVG's of some sort? Night time hog hunting is probably the pinnacle of fun with a firearm hah.. nice build anyhow tho. What projo's you plan on using for hogs? Have you tried the Barnes LRX's by any chance?

A repeat build of an ultra lightweight 16" .308. 7 LB 2 OZ and sub-MOA capable. Battle Arms Development BAD762 billet receiver set with 15" BAD 762 RigidRail. Proof Research carbine fiber wrapped barrel with optimum intermediate length gas system. JP LMOS bolt carrier group. SLR adjustable gas block. TriggerTech 3.5 LB straight trigger. Geissele 7.62 Super Charging Handle. Every V Seven titanium parts made for the big block guns, to include the excellent 7.62 Furion muzzle brake. Fantastic plastic by Magpul.
The recoil pulse with this thing is amazingly low with 175 grain match ammo. But, this gun is a steady diet of Mk 319 130 grain Barnes TSX destruction. This high pressure load produces LOTS of gas at the muzzle and reduces the recoil to just about nothing... But, is it ever LOUD!!! This ammo produces a simply unbelievable 2830 FPS in this 16" barrel. It runns reliably with the adjustable gas block only half open.
10 LB 2 OZ with full 20-RD magazine and Kahles K16i on Spuhr SP-3026 mount.

When a customer signs up for his third custom rifle, you know what his expectations are - high. I don't think this will disappoint him: 20" 6.5 CM with Bartelin 1x8 barrel from Craddock Precision. Seekins SP10 Builder's Kit, currently made of Unobtanium. Area 419 brake - both super loud and super effective. Dialing that gas down with the usual SLR adjustable gas block. JP FMOS bolt carrier group with JP High Pressure bolt. Geissele Super Charging Handle. JP SCS in 7.62 H2 weight. Trigger Tech Black Diamond (It's actually RED, you know ....) dialed down to 2.0 LB. Cool plastic stuff by Magpul. Cerakote by We Plead the 2nd. Nightforce ATACR F1 4-16x42 with TreMOR3 reticle in Spuhr SP-4026 mount. Fitted hard case by Patriot Cases. Bare rifle weighs in at 10 LB 2 OZ. With scope and mount plus empty magazine 13 LB 2 OZ. Shot way-sub-MOA with Prime 130's at 100 yards from the start.
