Winniethepooh what kind of accuracy are you seeing out of that setup?
I have a billet Spikes/Sharp Bros setup that I am looking to change into a 22in 6.5 Creedmoor
I was leaning towards the Bartlien setup
Picked up my first large frame gas gun on a trade a couple days ago. This thread has given me a lot of ideas for a build!
As of now, I'm going to be going with a Triggertech AR Diamond, Criterion Hybrid Contour 20" .308 barrel with headspaced JP BCG, and a Nightforce NX8 2.5-20. That should get the ball rolling.
wow, looks nice. looks like a turn-key Aero M5, complete with their new Atlas S-One handguard. should be fun! since you're swapping out the barrel, you might consider an adjustable gas block, if your new acquisition doesn't have one already. or, you might just consider building a whole separate upper for your new barrel. might be an Aero Labor Day sale coming up.Picked up my first large frame gas gun on a trade a couple days ago. I haven't ordered it yet. I'm going to continue to do some more research throughout the week. I will buy all the components this coming weekend.Have you shot the criterion barrel yet? I went with the same barrel in 18" for this build.
The guy I got it from built it from all Aero stuff. The current barrel is a 18" BA. It has never been fired. I am definitely going to go with an adjustable gas block though. I have them on all my AR15 platform rifles/pistols. Should be helpful if I decide to click the mouse on a .260 or 6.5 creedmoor barrel instead of a .308...wow, looks nice. looks like a turn-key Aero M5, complete with their new Atlas S-One handguard. should be fun! since you're swapping out the barrel, you might consider an adjustable gas block, if your new acquisition doesn't have one already. or, you might just consider building a whole separate upper for your new barrel. might be an Aero Labor Day sale coming up.

Figured I would throw up a quick update of my 308... Took it out to test out factory loads in it and it ran perfect, shot pretty decent.
I know my optics set up is pretty cheap, but it works for now until I can get something better... Believe it or not, this scope, rings, barrel, bolt, stock, trigger and bipod were all picked up here on the hide...

Today's groups:

Yea just 4 shot groups, I don't have much of these different loads... Still, pretty good I thought for a second hand SP10 barrel, $75 scope on a cheapo Weaver riser shooting factory loads. I shot the 185s at my zero instead of bringing it up 1.5MOA like the 175s... Otherwise they wouldn't be low, my bad there...
It's been a hell of a rifle so far, never misses a beat... Gotta get some time to spray some Aervoe on it will make it perfect for the woods.

What barrel is that? Is that the Troy rail made of Carbon Fiber?
It's a Seekins SP10 barrel and brake... I think they use Rock Creek blanks from what I understand. It's 1:11.25 twist with intermediate gas, Seekins adjustable gas block.
It is the Troy carbon fiber free float. I was nervous about its strength before buying it but it's turned out to be just as tough and rigid as an aluminum handguard. I bought the aluminum version too for a second build, Troy also. I'm so happy with this carbon fiber one I'm pondering selling the aluminum one to get another CF like the one pictured...
