Does anyone have good load data for the 155 Amaxs? Ran across a deal and picked some up.

Anybody interested in this combination should see the link below, where Dan Newberry duplicates the FGMM 175 round using these components. Very good read as he adjusts for variance in weight between manufacturers brass. The above load is almost right on.

45gr R15 behind 155gr Bullets seems to be a good accuracy node in my rifle. Two different bullets, two different cases, two different primers but the same powder charge produce great accuracy for me. These are 10 shot groups.
John
The 155gr VLDs averaged 2860fps.
The 155gr Scenars averaged 2870fps.
20" remington 700 SPS tactical (stock everything) with a leupold mk4 3.5-10x40. Stock trigger too at 4 lbs.
65deg. Fahrenheit
175gr SMK
FGMM 7.62x51 brass
Winchester large rifle primers
42.0gr H4895
Avg. 2580fps
Cases trimmed to 2.010
Bullet seated to 2.815
This is my new accuracy load.
Was using 41.6gr of h4895, and the groups (5rnd groups) were around 1moa to 1.5moa average.
The new load, at 42.0gr of h4895, I have fired only 10 rounds of. 5 rounds were chronoed (2580fps) and the next 5 I shot a group of 0.6 MOA at 100 yards.
Have yet to try varget, but have some under the bench. Don't worry about lot differences in hodgdon. The lot difference between varget powder is only +\- 8fps. So I'd say it's very consistent
I just chuckled when I saw that one hole, Very Nice!
then I shook my head when I read about wanting to try other powders, To what gain?
IMR 4064 is a great powder, is what's believed to be in the FGMM for it's temperature insensitivity and low fluctuations in velocity.

BTW, Nice Stick
Thanks, but I think your misunderstanding.... That group was shot with IMR 4064... My loads right now are with power pro
2000mr. So that picture was just a 5 shot group I did while loading some .308 stuff for a buddy and decided to try it. The power pro shoots damn good too, not that good though. I'm with ya on the switching thing. If it's not broke ..... Don't fix it
No, I got it. You shot that great group with 4064 & then later said he suggested H4895, (what do you guys think?) It's late I could still be wrong, LOL
Nice stick and shooting in any case
.................
The 44gr load was a hot load so I treated the bore with NuFinish car polish to reduce the drag within the barrel.
Not WAX! Polish! There is a difference...???????? NuFinish makes bore paste? Please tell me more about using car wax in a barrel......

Pulled some but it looks promising. No chrony. AAC-SD 20" 175smk IMI match brass 43.5 IMR 4064. fed primers. Getting ejector marks? But took 5.8mil to 700yds? Seems slow. Did I screw up something?
At 5.8mils to 700, that shows about 2645MV, that's not slow and not a surprise that you are getting ejector marks. That's pretty quick for that short tube. My 178's were 2450 with 43.5 of varget in WW brass.
That does sound better. I must have something wrong in JBM. It shows 2500fps. If I have ejector marks at 43.5 but max in the lee manual is 45?????? That seems wicked hot!!!
Shot over a crony.
AAC-SD with sure fire brake.
IMI match brass
175 SMK
Fed 210 primers
43.5g IMR 4064
2725fps WITH EJECTOR MARKS!! Primer look ok.
43.2g of IMR 4064 was 2610fps no pressure signs.
Reduce your loads with IMI match brass.
I see you are finally getting the velocity up. Must have been some wrong info put into the ballistics calc!!!
42 grains of IMR 4064 Lapua brass ( fire formed ) bumped 2/1000's and a .334 bushing. 178 amax at 2.230 to ogive. MONEY
What velocity should the 168 GMM factory load produce from a 20 inch barrel (1:12)?
TIA for any insight.
About 50-60 fps less than what's printed on the box, more or less.
