What powder do you use for your 338 Lapua??? I need to buy powder for mine that I'm building to have it on stand by. What powder do yall recommend? I'm going to be using Berger 300 grain hybrid match open tip bullets out of a Krieger 1:9.35 twist at 30 inches over all finished length. I just ordered (4) 100 count boxes of these bullets... $75 each!!!! Gotta pay to play I guess.... They have the best BC at .818 that I've seen though.

Hi in my DTA SRS for my 338 LM i use Reloader 25. 90.2grns under the Berger 300grn Hybrids. There are many different powders out there for this round, Retumbo, H1000, RL25 and now RL33 seem to be the most popular. Always start 10% low and build up slowly. Dont forget just because one recipe works for one rifle it doesnt mean it will work with another, Stay safe.

Retumbo, US 869, H-1000, RL-33, RL-25, VV-170, VV-N570 and any other slow burning, magnum powder.

I shoot the 250s and like H-4831sc, VV-165, VV-170 and H-1000. I have some RL-25, but haven't tried it yet.

Sounds good. I'll have to start looking into those powders to find what I want to try first. I'm still in the building stage so I have another several months before I can reload anything. It's all just getting tough to get so I'm starting to look now. I've never seen the US powder around my area, so I doubt I'll use that. RL 25, H1000, Retumbo, and RL 33 seem to be my best ones to get my hands on easy enough.
