4500 Horus atrag with interface

Anybody use this combo? I've had my kestrel 4500 atrag now for a year and it works fine. I recently picked up a kestrel interface to load all my data on my pc. Anyways, I downloaded the program hooked up the serial/USB cable and nothing happens. While in kestrels program, I click on any of the corresponding buttons and the program says my kestrel is not hooked up and I need to check to see if it's powered on (yes) and hooked up correctly (yes).

any thoughts? or is there an issue with interface or 4500?

Serial port issue on the computer?

It uses a serial port to a USB (USB to the computer and Serial port to the kestrel)....

No answer or callback as of yet (holiday break).

Assuming the drivers installed correctly go to device manager and make sure that the USB/Serial port it assigned to the same port the s/w is looking for your Kestrel on.
