50 Tomahawks for al-Assad -- Mattis Says 20% SAAF Birds Roasted

Russia is not that crazy to comply with that sort of intrigue/suckering.

I see no advantage to Assad for using chems.

Why does Putin want to test Trump when he has basically already been neutered by the Obam leftovers and the establishment. He could have at his leisure sat back and laughed at appellate court justices shitting on Potus.

War tends to unify political opponents.

I don't see any upside for Assad in using chems. Two or three barrel bombs would have been as effective.

You don't see the upside for Assad because you have not considered the stratigic objective. He wants to make sure people are terrified of him and that people understand that there is no hope of outside intervenetion.

Another draft dodger launching missiles at a empty target after giving warnings. Wtf

If this is a limited strike solely to express our condemnation of the use of chemical weapons I see the value. I question whether we targeted the right people though.

The way this would have been effective......

Trump comes on TV live with a large flat screen behind him. On the flat screen is live feed drone footage of one of Assads palaces. Trump starts his speech by announcing 15 minutes to launch. He than gives a fifteen minute speech stating that the US will not allow chemical weapons to be considered a conventional weapon. Note yesterday was the 100th anniversary of the US entering WWI when we realized chemical weapons were too horrendous even for something as horrendous as war. Condemn the UN for having no balls. Express his revulsion at having to use force but acknowledge the responsibility that it must be done to prevent the use of CBRN.

Meanwhile on the screen we see people scrambling from the Palace in real time.

State this is a limited strike and similar will follow to whomever uses chems. We reserve that right as a sort of Monroe Doctrine on Chem warfare and we reserve the right to use nukes to burn your stockpiles.

At the end of the speech the Palace disappears and he states don't make me do this again. There will be no speech in the future. Our stance is now common knowledge. Our involvement is now done until you violate our stance.

That would be effective but I don't think we picked the right target. I need more proof. We seem to know an aweful lot about the loading and dropping of this bomb but every intrigue in DC regarding politics is a mystery.

But it could sure be fun to find out!!!

I think, once you bring it high, hard, and inside, the other eight on the batting lineup have heard the chin music quite clearly. Pour encourager les autres, as it were.

On an interesting note, CNN would like to report that Trump's populist backing is running like rats post-Syria.

Apparently, a consensus of shitbirds and dissenters very much in the minority is going to threaten any clear mandate. Uh huh. Right.

While I agree, from my limited time on the mound I can say that there's always going to be a guy who continues to crowd the plate.

i wonder how long it took CNN to cobble together enough partial misquotes to create that narrative

Guys, not to seem un-interested in the severity of this political banter and potential outcomes, but do you all think now is a good time to stock up on Pow primers and bullets ? I'm gonna be pissed if I can't get my lead pills and go go juice for one of my new rifles.........

Love the aint we funkin now tune. Prayers to the children and god fearing people of Syria.
I like your posts VeerG

Beyond the initial satisfaction of savoring just a small bit of justice for children preyed upon by a monster to choke their last breath in the spasms of a ghastly death I wonder what is next. I have almost no time on the mound, but I have no shortage of experience in the box. For those willing to step into it you don't give a fuck about a ball breaking for your head, or at least you strain to not show it. You want pay back.

A thousand times I have wondered how anyone who has seen a US Navy carrier group can possibly imagine fucking with America. But I have seen batters, large and small, willing to put their head square over the plate after an attempted brush back. We wouldn't have war otherwise. And I'm not sure there is a historical constant any more constant than war. Enveloping the world or limited to a jungle outpost, flowing over decades or fleeting, war is immortal. This may be why Heraclitus named war "“the father of all things”."

Watching a bunch of fools on tv talking about how we need to do more and how we need to get rid of Assad. What a bunch of fucking idiots. I hope Trump doesn't get drunk on the praise.

Meh, The democrats wanted to make Russia an enemy, they are getting their way.

Once again we are taking our eyes off the real enemy and venturing forth with no clear plan.

Deficit will be 22 trillion before 2018.

Why do the dems get to wag the dog in power and out of power?

Maybe we need a bigger dog?

Meanwhile, in Jacksonville, FL, people make their differences in opinion known:

I don't think we have enough cruise missles to launch at all the motherfuckers that need to be launched at.

Umm, yes, we do.

Think about it. How many CRUDES platforms are out there? How many Tomahawks do each carry? And how many do you think are kept in wartime reserve (never mind the ones kept in ready reserve at the ordnance resupply bases).

Yes but there are more assholes that deserve one than there are cruse missiles especially when they need multiples each.

Love the NBC gear....

Samples are taken from the site of a suspected chemical attack in Khan Sheikhoun.

Im thinking a load of BS but to what end?

Thats what happens when you play like a kinder and gentler fkn warrior and bomb empty bases and empty targets. Either kill everyone that shows up for work at the base of dont fkn put on a stupid dog and pony show. Wait til prayer time and fkn launch 100 at the base and 100 at assads house, and neighborhood, of sit the fk down and shut the fk up. This reminds me of another fearless president missiling an empty baby aspirin/formula factory at night in Africa somewhere. Asshats, all you fkrs and every douchbag that lives within 50 miles of DC.

PM ou are correct the stupid frikken kittens are following that laser shining on the wall, no wait, its on the floor now, oh look its on the ceiling. Stupid fkn fools. Meanwhile everyone is forgetting about the high crimes of the last criminal president and that bitch Hilary. You idiots are going to pretend surprise when the next election happens and 99% of the votes are cast for democrats.

Use fucking brains, every strike in Syria is coordinated (or better yet was coordinated) between US&Russia which means that those in US forces that needed to know knew perfectly well what was flying and from where and what did it hit. Now you morons actually believe that after latest victories and basically putting jihadists on defence Assad would be crazy enough (even if he somehow managed to hide nerve gas, not to mention about loosing his only Allies if he even had gas as Russians were the ones brokering deal to remove gas from Syria) to use it againts some kids&women???? For what purpose exactly to fuck himself??? Just for kicks?

Destroyers which fired missiles left Spain on 27th march which means this entire shit was preplanned and that someone used knowledge of air strike to either plant or informed "moderate rebels" which made sure strike location was stuffed with chemicals to provide excuse to attack sovereign nation without approval of Congress or UN in direct violation of domestic and international law.

PS: You don't go digging through Sarin shells or remnants using such equipment because if that were trully military grade nerve agent you wouldn't be standing there long enough to take that photo...

As if it matters what "he" says or as if it matters what MSM says or as if it matters what you use for your source of information as the truth is that "Assad regime denied it used chemical weapons" and their narrative is that while they did strike that they used conventional weapons. And since US was informed of that strike do you not find it a bit funny that one would use chemical weapons in announced and clearly observable conditions with nothing tactical nor strategical to gain except to loose everything from giving US alibi to do what they've been itching all along up to loosing only support they have (Russia, Iran).
Some of you consider yourself rational and at least of average intelligence and yet your writing shows neither....

This is enjoyable noise from the Balkans.

Gee, Assad sure isn't jumping up and down screaming he didn't do it now is he?

At least our news isn't letting us know he is.

The day after the Tomahawk attack my news was actually reporting "The Syrian General had this to say". Than they played a clip of a man speaking Arabic which they followed with "We don't know what that means".

Like its a fucking joke.

This is a big market radio station with supposedly an educated consumer, Boston, and it was talk/news radio not a rock/entertainment station. I thought it was fucking juvenile as well as hey fuck you, you don't need to know.

Who knows what Assad is saying. You can bet we wont hear it and people think you don't need to know.

Stand by we are about to get 100K military age refugees in route, no vetting "Damn that Meddling judge", no wall - those pesky Dems shut me down, and Gorsuch will find Heller was too broad "Why does anyone need more than Airsoft".

Trump doesn't have to listen to that Judge, they are co equal branches which means a judge cant stop him, it takes a judge and a congress to stop him. the only thing stopping trump is trump.

Sharc , just shut the fk up, better yet get in your Yugo with a few friends and get yor asses over there to settle this situation.

Reason why I maintain the labor to move the shit was out of the loop about the coming strike, an was smoked in it. Have to ask yourself who benefited the most. Russia, nope, Assad nope, anyone else in the middle east? I can think of a one or two? What other player or industry would gain?
The answer is under most folks nose if they would open their eyes to what has been going on for the last 28+ years.
How is the best way to make folks believe in what their country is doing/does?
Or how to drag others into doing what you can't or won't.
Who gains in a war between Russia an The US?
Some of you guys can't think past you nose, then get pissed when it's pointed out by someone who can.
Fact,..there are groups within the US that have an will run false flags, to get the American people and it's military up in arms. There are also states in the middle east that would like nothing better than the US an Russia to war each other.
Sometimes this board is laughable for/of guys who are supposed to be able to think on their feet. Maybe it's the water don't know but, if it's this easy to push folks to a locked up conclusion, lock step is not that far away!

Clearly, you have no idea what you're talking about. Having worked directly on, and with Tomahawks over the last 19 years, I can say (empirically) you are very full of shit. Period. No if's, and's or but's. Complete shit, and obviously clueless about how naval strike planning operates.

LMFAO. :p

I actually went back and read your dribble sharc, since when does the US have ti ask anyone outside the US when we should attack anyone. Take your UN and International law and shove it up your ass. Or better yet call that UN army to enforce the laws it supposedly has. We keep as many tomahawks on hand as most countries keep 7.62 rounds and on many many ships planes all oevr the world. hell we even have ones with nukes on them.. as far as pre planning, you betcha, we probably have a contingency to take out your local whorehouse, this is what we do with officers in our military , we have them contingency plan so they can stay out of the way of the grown ups in the NCO corps.

In ten years you will let me know how it is living under sharia law because your part of that shithole we call Europe will be over run with refugees.

Turban again too tight and when you have nothing rational to say you resort to bullshit?

Just amazed how you consistently march in here and lecture us as if we were children. How much you gettin' per sortie here, anyway? Or do they pay you in blinis and beluga?

You mean with how the US was frog marched to invade Iraq over WMDs that mysteriously proved to be invisible or just 'not there anymore'.

All the way back to WWI there have been dubious pretexts for war. It's like a courtship, there's a protocol. Should we fight Syria? No. Should we do something, visceral, against growing Russian boldness, yes. Was this a good reason to engage Russia by proxy? Yes. Did it work - I think so. Russia's response has been mostly propaganda than 'toothy'. That's good.

Would it have been a tragic loss of life and freak accident if one of those tomahawks ended up Soros' ass? Well, the fog of war...

I do not want the US getting into the nation building. It's just not good at it and we've enough to deal with at home. Having said that, we need fingers in pies and it's needed to show the others that our fingers are fatter and backed up by real, well used, knuckledusters.

Ya see APOG you were going along real well there, just like a native would, but then you start putting fat fingers in pies, instead of showing the world who has the big stick. Though you are wrong on this subject you have either become tolerable or you are wearing us down with your persistent foolishness.

APOG must have seen American Pie and he was thinking warm apple pie.

At least we know he has a rifle and can shoot it. Somewhere inside APOG is an American yearning to break out but its so wrapped up in all that British coating its a struggle. In time I guess.

I could do with some guidance here on just what it is you're saying...

My point on the pies, and in fact, shockingly, I was echoing Gun, that we can't become isolationist. We need to stay involved and let others know we mean business when we don't like what's going on or else others will eventually get involved in us and we'd be at a disadvantage. The pie reference is, well, a pie reference. I do enjoy baked products, just not in - that - way (well, not since boarding school...).

PM - the open irons, where the men and the boys are separated (unless you're Greek, in which case nothing less than a crow-bar will suffice...).

No we don't need to get involvd in every shit fight. There is no good side in Syria.

The rebels are all ISIS. Assad has his issues but his secular dictatorship is better for our self interests than the alternative. Let them continue to kill each other. Force them to stay in country. Have the UN establish a safe zone for women and under 16 males only. Provide air cover for the camps.

I agree with smashing anyone that uses chems. I just aint convinced Assad used them, fuck seeing the CBRN specialist in sandals makes me question if they were even used. Sarin is MOPP4 plus or whatever the equivalent is today. I use better PPE to clean the shower.

Sorry western media and John McCain don't have my trust. Your British up bringing has you believing govt is there to help you and wields its power wisely. Rise up off your knees lad you are no longer a "subject".

I have lots of irons, as accurate as scopes except my eyes fail me. My Winchester target is with peep irons. If I can pattern the A23 black with the 10/22 Ill be well satisfied. That gun killed many a sparrow and starling when I was a kid and didn't know better.

for the record , yes, we can become isolationists, easier now than ever before in our history.

OK, so I tell you what, you become isolationist, cut yourself off, completely, for 5 years and report back...

I wonder how you'd afford parts for all those fancy bikes of yours when the dollar becomes worth one 20th of what it is now if as part of your isolationist strategy the dollar ceased to be the global currency, or when American investments overseas are 'nationalized' because America isn't sailing around the world letting the world know the awesome 'unfuckability' of nuclear powered aircraft carriers....

yeah those carriers really stopped Venezuela and Argentina from seizing all the US assets in their countries. Isolationism does not mean disarming, it means letting teh world fend for itself, Obama dam near did that and that was the one thing I kind of liked him for. Now you have that goddam cowboy from NYC trying to undo the only thing that fkr was good at.

It seems like the drums of war are being warmed up.
Somehow I think this is going to turn out to have just been the opening act.

Whoever winds up "winning" the real losers will be any Syrians who happened to be decent people just wanting a good life, there never was any hope for them from the start.
