I'm getting started reloading 6.5 for PRS. I have a Co-Ax and need dies, I like the idea of micrometer dies as I work up my loads but I'm open to suggestions.

In Stock will also help

If you're just getting started, take what you can get. My local Cabela's had ~6 of these in stock when I was there a couple of days ago. Hornady is more than good enough to get started. After the world settles down again, search out a set of Forster dies - a full length sizing die and a micrometer top, which will be 3x the cost of the Hornady.

I have a "Used a Couple of Times" Redding Competition set ... minus the Bullet Seating Die ... but the Micrometer Neck-Sizer and Body-Die are available. Photos below. If interested, PM me with an offer. They're just accumulating dust in my "Not Using" bin. You'd still need to find a Seating Die, but at least you'd be 2/3 there

Go with a full length bushing type sizing die with bushings in the .287 to .290 range and a micrometer seating die. I would avoid neck sizing dies. You could try ebay if you don't find a set in the PX.

Short Action Customs is the bees knees if you have time to wait. I'm pretty sure Orkan's reviews have caused a huge demand for their dies.

Using the Redding set with the neck sizing die and the body die achieves the same results as a full length sizing die. It just adds an extra body die step for the batch that you are working on. The quickest way to have a ready to load case, of course, is to use a full length sizing S die with bushings as others have mentioned. I use one made by Redding for the 6.5 Creedmoor. I still run the case through two sizes of bushings...don't care about speed. After all brass is sized and clean, I then seat primers with a hand held priming tool from K&M...uses Lee shell holders. I don't like having to run the press ram to seat primers. I also place each case in a Wilson case gauge sitting on a flat surface. If it fits the gauge, it should fit your rifle chamber, and the gauge will indicate any growth in the length of the brass, too. A good caliper will become one of your most used tools. You'll have to do some internet research to find what's in stock.

Yup ... exactly what I figured out "after" I got this full set. Hence the Neck and Body dies just laying there in my "Shouldn't have bought it" bin.

Well they're not really a waste. You can still make good ammunition with those dies. Seating the bullet straight into the case is a high priority, and you have that covered if you have the micrometer seating die with the sleeve.

Yeah, but I wanted to cut a step so I got the Redding Type-S Full Body Sizing Die ... so the Neck and Body size dies in this set are useless to me. Basically ... a door-stop.
