I am asking this question for a guy i know. I told him i dont have answers but i will ask the pros...
So let me know what you think, if you have any pointers or things he can try let me know.

This is his question:
Shooting this: http://www.rockriverarms.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_id=402 and with a 1:10 twist what round should this thing like? I have fed it 168 gold medal match but not sure if it should get 175’s or 165 etc
Using this scope: http://www.opticsplanet.net/millett-6-25...-long-rang.html

***shooting 100yard, bench with bipod***

Other three targets are from my bolt gun http://www.snipercentral.com/ssgp1.htm
*with a Springfield Armory 6x20 Government Model, Steyr rings.
The gun should be getting better groups than this. But not sure what is going on.

Do you think there is something up with the scope, mount, barrel etc.? or just sloppy shooting, jumpy, trigger jerking etc.

Thanks in advance for the help. "PROS"

Here are pictures of his targets.

Re: A little help for a wannabe

Quickest way to check is take the scope off, put the irons back on and see how it shoots. If it shoots with irons then I'd say its the scope.

Without watching the shooter, and examining the rifle it's hard to tell from here.

Re: A little help for a wannabe

That's a lot of consistent vertical, first up, then down, then up on all of them. I would guess: Breathing. But you are probably also not coming straight back on the trigger.

... I mean your 'friend' isn't.

Re: A little help for a wannabe

The groups suggest a multitude of problems; but, assuming the rifle is not broken, poor trigger control, and an inconsistent position appear to be having an effect on results. Parallax could also be an issue. Remember, unless the line of bore at rest and line of departure produces a consistent angle and arc, bullets will not hit where aimed. For consistent recoil, the relationship between shooter, gun, and ground between shots must be consistent. Hold hard.
