Accuracy International AT-X

Red coming in hot. Im assuming one of the last 6.5 from mile high during their sale. New to the rifle game but learning.

I got my AT-X V4 earlier from the super-duper custom shop. AXSR folder, 6.5 PRC

Nice. I had one of the earliest Gen 1’s that o put an AXSR stock on. Originally I believe they talked about putting h those stock options out……kinda like the AX folder for the AT’s but like most everything else they promised it either didn’t happen or is 3 years late. 🤦‍♂️. I really think the AXSR stock is the best version. Mitch better than the Gen 3’s with the big ass black thumb knobs. Problem is you can’t even find AXSR chassis anymore…..if they even still make them.

Serious question...

How does the AXSR stock compare to the gen 3 ATX stock? Looks like they have the same adjustability, just one has thumb screws the other had QD levers?
I had a V2 stock originally and other than getting everything adjusted they function the same.

V2 required an Allen key to adjust but it was solid once setup.

AXSR stock has the tool less adjustment but the lever pins may work loose if not setup right.

They listened to some of the complaints. I’ll give them that. If the AT-XC action feels like my AXSR, then I’d call that a success. If it feels better, it’s a big win. If it supports short magnums, I’ll probably buy it.

Bolt sounds like it's a scaled down AXSR. The AXSR feels a little different to operate than the AT, but not earth shatteringly different. If I had to describe it the bolt pulls forward slightly when closing (CAM on close might be the right description?). And like the AXSR bolt isn't backwards compatible I'd guess the ATXc isn't either.

My ATX & AXSR bolts feel dramatically different. It’s not going to shatter the earth but it will change customer purchasing patterns.

Any insight on pricing yet? If normal ATX pricing was $5200 before they put them on sale, safe to assume north of $6k with the added accessories and the new”ish” AXSR styled action?

I'd expect pricing around what an AX used to be. Could always be wrong, but I think that's pretty safe bet.

Well, for about $5,200 in, I guess I have what is essentially the new AT-XC (Gen 3 with bridge, hinge, and "rear grip"). I can see where the guys who bought the remainder of the AT-Xs at near $4K a few months ago would be out even less all totaled, unless I'm just missing something obvious.

I guess the AT-X MIL adds a picatinny rail to the bridge, Cerakotes the action, and adds the B&T brake?

Both of the new offerings definitely have a different optics base than mine...I'm assuming it is because I didn't intend to interface with the picatinny bridge rail..

Not going to lie, I like the looks of the AT-X MIL, and may try to clone a bit. However, I have several other rifle projects that are going to go ahead of that one.

I'll keep the rest of my opinions to myself however until I see what the new AT-Xs are going for at street price. I've been trying to talk a buddy into an AT folder all morning, but he just doesn't want to give up his MRAD SMR...loser .

***EDITED***

Definitely see the bolt difference now. That is going to be a welcomed addition to new purchasers.
