Accuracy International AT-X

I also need a 6 BR cal. barrel and a mag. as well. Do you know if Proof makes this caliber (carbon or steel)? I'm asking about Proof because I know a few importers here in Europe and it would be easier to purchase. Any recommendations are welcome, then I'll look for a way to get it in Europe.
I know Mile High Shooting has some (maybe in stock?) Surely dealing with AI to get guns into the US they are familiar-ish with the process?

Someone jump in here if I'm way off base, but I don't see any of the BR calibers offered in the pre-fit sections, steel or CF, for AI - Link for reference.

You could always just order the 6mm blank and have it chambered somewhere?
Proof does not. Mile High has some but I just had Ryan @ Hunt's Long Range cut some for me.

Nothing like using a hacksaw to make the AI you want.

I'm of course still clinging to the hopium that I can someday purchase a short uppered AT-X(whatever) with a 16" or 16.5" barrel.

Or, even, just, the one single part for the short upper.
gotta do what you gotta do lol

They do offer it in the LE model, but I dont know if they'll let normal people buy them if you arent a BlueFalcon

Great video. Although I haven’t tested it because I use a torque wrench as well I wonder if he marked the quickloc screw with a sharpie then just matched that up with the hand tool if his consistency would match up with the fix it sticks torque

Maybe he did and I didn’t see that in the video
I just did the ol Badger method of finger tight and then 90* to test if I wasnt using the fix it sticks to torque. Works very consistently but the POI is differenet.

LMAO well we did a 6.5 vs 308 video showing my 16” setup vs my buddies 20 or 22” 308 and didnt hear the end of how bad a 6.5 is for deer where a 308 is the best thing ever.
If you look back in the threads here you’ll see I’m a candidate for that argument in the 178 ELDX 30 cal camp 😁

Although my furthest kill on a whitetail at 1121 yards is still at the hands of the 260. Which is another argument (6.5 vs 260) that I always participate in haha

Per MHSA the other day, the AT-XC LE model is for agency purchase only, OR purchase by individual officer if they have letterhead stating the rifle is for duty use.

So ultimately not *impossible* to buy, just highly difficult (I suppose you could offer to fund some random snipers to get a new rifle each year, in exchange for selling you their old LE lol). Per MHSA, it's a contractual issue, not a legal one.

Hacksaws are pretty cheap and easy in comparison.

It can be done, but yes, the juice isn’t worth the squeeze. In true Hide fashion, one will likely come available for sale here in the PX before too long lol.

I like the looks of the one from Sokek as well.
If I still had mine this is what I’d put on it. The dependabilt one is nice and that’s what I had on it. Only thing I didn’t care for was the flat bottom. It didn’t nestle into a bag as well as something like the sokek would

The sokek also blends into the gun better and isn’t like a ski on the bottom sticking forward

You are without an AI?

Looking for a new bag rider, don’t love the ergonomics on the one from AI. Anyone have any experience with the riders from Dependabilt or Department of Techne?
I've settled on MBE Ballistic Solutions bag rider, seemed like I was always trying to get extra height out of my Bugholes. Very versatile. Great set of sleds also.

@gconnoyer which gen do you have? I'm wanting to run an ATX or ATXC next season. Commented on that video asking the same...is the atxc worth is over the atx and improvement(s) to the action?

I think it has been said quite a few times here that if you can get an AT-X for $4K or less with a few accessories then you’re better off going that route. Now if you don’t own one yet and you can snag an AT-XC for $6K or less then the juice is worth the squeeze IMHO and that’s the route I went. I don’t think that the XC is leaps and bounds better than the X but it’s an improvement and the supported action going forward.

I dont think so. I really have ZERO issues with the bolt weight or action weight.
Its super slick once it breaks in.

The comp trigger is great.
The chassis is great, balances great.

Unless you want the folder and full bridge and rail, its the same gun effectively.
The bigger knob on the ATXC is nice, but you can literally order a knob from McMastercarr and replace it for $3 lol

AT-X year in review, 7115 rounds later and this rifle is OK.

I installed the high action rail, 1.54" mount, and anarchy lown pro cheek piece at lowest height. It's still taller than I like, or have all the rest my rigs set up. I use a jaw weld, and with the atx chassis I have to use a cheek weld.

You know what part # for the bigger knob?!

ok guys i dropped off my AT_X chassis for cerakote. Per the shop they requested I drop off the chassis complete and they would break down and coat the chassis. When I picked up the chassis it was all in pieces and the shop said they misplaced all the hardware and couldn't find it.

So any idea who I should reach out to? I tried EO where I bought the rifle from and they told me AI doesnt sell a hardware kit for the AT_X. Would AI have a hardware replacement? Anyone know what exactly all they screws are and I can just order online?

Sounds like you need a new cerakoter!
This might get you started, but doesn't give lengths

Holy shit.

Let me see what I can do. Do you know specifically what hardware you are missing? Or can you take pics or get me the info on what you have?

Who to reach out to?

I would reach out to a lawyer and name and shame the company on social media.

I’d be right back in that shop and having them search. Right before issuing a full refund if they can’t find them

So who was it?
